What a day at the Great Southern Football League Women’s Pride Round as part of the Albany Pride Festival 🌈🏉

We were so proud to stand alongside players, clubs and community members celebrating visibility, inclusion and belonging in sport.

At headspace Albany, we know that young people who identify as LGBTQIA+ experience higher rates of anxiety and distress — not because of who they are, but because of stigma and discrimination. That’s why events like Pride Round matter.

When sporting clubs say “you belong here”, it carries real weight. It tells young people they don’t have to choose between who they are and the communities they love.

Thank you to the Great Southern Football League Women’s for creating space for pride in sport, and to the Albany Pride Festival for bringing our community together.

If you saw us at the stall — thanks for stopping by! And if you didn’t, remember we’re here for young people aged 12–25 across the Great Southern 💚

Happy Pride, Albany 🌈

Happy National Condom Day! 💘
Yep - it lands on Valentine’s Day for a reason.

Condoms are one of the easiest ways to protect yourself from STIs and unplanned pregnancy. And a quick consent check-in helps make sure everyone’s feeling good and on the same page.

And because we love a good throwback…
Did you know Australia once had a First Nations superhero leading the charge on HIV prevention?
"Condoman" created in the late 80s - became a cultural icon thanks to the deadly work of Aunty Gracelyn Smallwood, a trailblazer in Aboriginal health and HIV advocacy. His message still stands today: “Don’t be shame, be game!”

If you haven’t heard the story, it’s worth a read: https://share.google/jE1m0lsR11J6vBbvD

So grab a condom, have a yarn with your partner, and make choices that keep you safe, confident and in control.
