🌍💙 World Diabetes Day – November 14th 💙🌍

Today, we join the global community in raising awareness for World Diabetes Day, a time to focus on education, prevention, and support for those living with diabetes. Our team at SRMG will be wearing blue today to help spread awareness and show our support.👗👔👖

We are especially grateful to have Jan Rathbone, our dedicated Diabetic Educator, on the team. 🙌 Jan works closely with patients to help them understand their condition, manage their blood sugar, make informed food and exercise choices, and live their healthiest lives.

If you or a loved one would like to learn more about managing diabetes, please speak to your GP about involving Jan in their care.

We understand there has been a lot of discussion in the community about bulk billing and changes to Medicare rebates.

At SRMG, our billing policy is not changing; you can expect to be billed as you previously have been.

💬 A note on bulk billing:
Medicare rebates unfortunately do not cover the cost of providing quality healthcare and we are committed to quality.
Maintaining our current billing structure enables us to:
✅ Provide high-quality, patient-centred care
✅ Invest in medical equipment and technology
✅ Employ quality staff
✅ Maintain and develop a modern, comfortable practice environment

Did you know that the Medicare funding for chronic conditions has recently been reduced and some items for mental health have been removed. The most common problems we see are chronic disease and mental health.

We appreciate your continued trust in allowing us to be your healthcare partner. We remain committed to balancing the needs of our patients with the realities of running a sustainable general practice in all future decisions.

Why don’t ants get sick?
Because they have…🥁🥁🥁
🐜ANT-Y BODIES!🐜

While we love a good health joke, the truth is, in a close-knit community like Albany, it can be easy for bugs (the viral kind, not the ant kind!) to spread quickly.
