As you can see by the photo below, it was a beautiful day for some of our team to take a stroll to the bi-monthly Chat & Chomp networking event, hosted on Tuesday by Age Well Albany, located in Lockyer Avenue.

It was a welcomed opportunity to network with several local services and to hear more about the holistic and specialist supports offered by Age Well to the older adult population in Albany.

Thank you for hosting the event Age Well!

If you're an Albany health or community service provider and would like to know more about the Chat & Chomp events, please contact Amity Health 9842 2797 or email query@amityhealth.com.au.

Thank you to WA Primary Health Alliance for providing the opportunity for Amity Health's Care Finders Di & Helen to attend this forum.

"Connecting with other regional teams was most beneficial. We feel privileged to be able to make such a difference in the lives of older vulnerable people in our communities." Di Van Clarke

Our recent care finder’s forum brought together a passionate group of providers and stakeholders from across the state. It was a fantastic day to strengthen regional collaboration, share best practices, identify common challenges and opportunities and hear more about the aged care reform and what it means for care finders.

“This activity and the people it aims to support greatly aligns with WAPHA’s focus on equity within under-served communities and locations - the outcomes that are being supported by many of these organisations and their teams is outstanding.” - Mark Cockayne, Executive General Manager ‑ Commissioned Services

Our team love being part of the Mad Hatter Tea Party Albany - it’s a lot of fun! Thanks to headspace Albany and Youth Focus for continuing the coordination of this annual tradition of ‘mad hattering’ during Mental Health Week WA!

Will we see you there? 🧢🤠🥳

The Mad Hatter Tea Party hosted by headspace Albany is a free community event held during the school holidays on Friday 3rd October from 10am-1pm at the Albany Town Square. Everyone is welcome to attend!

For the 12th year running, the Mad Hatter event has been a valuable opportunity to unite in celebrating mental health awareness, connecting families and community members with the local mental health organisations available, and breaking down the stigma around mental health – while having some fun with the colourful Best Hat Parade and Competition.

At the Town Square you can expect to see more than 20 stalls with free activities, live performances by local performers, interactive games, face painting, and free food including sausage sizzle and cupcakes.

This year marks a major milestone with the Western Australian Association for Mental Health partnering to launch WA Mental Health Week 2025 from the Mad Hatter event. It’s a proud moment for regional WA and we’d love the community to join us for the biggest Tea Party yet!

💛 This morning we came together for RUOK? Day with an Acknowledgement of Country and a thoughtful reminder from our Mental Health Clinician, Nicola Granich that checking in with one another shouldn’t just happen once a year – asking R U OK? is something we can all do, every day.

Mental Health Clinician, Jen Greenwald, guided us through a mindfulness activity – eyes closed, hand on heart – encouraging us to pause, reflect, and ask ourselves the same important question. She reminded us to make time for self-care over the weekend too.

Later today, Kaylee and Jen are joining Albany Senior High School’s RUOK? Day activities alongside other service providers, helping young people learn about the mental health supports available in our community.

Together, let’s keep these conversations going – today and every day. 💛

If you or someone you know could use extra support, our caring team of psychologists, counsellors and art therapists are here to help.

It's the eve of R U OK? Day, and we encourage you to ask R U OK? any day because life happens every day. It's also a gentle reminder of the importance of reaching out as stress, grief, trauma, shifts in life, even the small things can weigh heavily.

At Amity Health, our Psychologist Brigid Morrigan, and Mental Health OT/Art Psychotherapist Danita Walsh provide services that are shaped to respond to what matters most to you, whether that’s practical tools, creative expression, or compassionate listening.

Seeking help means choosing to be cared for. Brigid has offered some tips for managing some of life's stressors on her blog post https://bit.ly/42lIFaL
