Does your jaw click when you open your mouth?
You’re not alone — and in many cases, it’s completely harmless.
That clicking sound is often caused by a small disc inside the jaw joint moving slightly out of sync. It can sound worrying, but it doesn’t automatically mean there’s damage.
However, it’s worth getting advice if:
• The clicking is painful
• Your jaw feels like it catches or locks
• You can’t open fully
• You’re getting headaches, ear pain or neck discomfort as well
We’ve written a short blog explaining what’s happening in the joint and when you should seek help.
