WELCOME Dr Ash |

Our Humble Kinder families are now doubly blessed 😉
with the addition of Dr Ash to our team, we now offer co-therapy specialised supports.

So what’s the fuss all about?
Ash has a special interest in working with paediatric neuro developmental disorders, including ASD, ADHD, PANS/PANDAS, sensory processing challenges and learning difficulties.

He would like to share his approach with you -

The way a child moves, reacts, and learns is an indication of how their brain is processing the world around them. That’s why my approach is intergrative — blending primitive reflex integration, play-based rehab, and laser therapy to support kids with neurodevelopmental challenges from the inside out.

It’s not just about improving balance or coordination; it’s about calming the nervous system, creating new brain connections, and helping kids feel more settled, confident, and connected in their own bodies.

Every session is about meeting the child where they’re at, and using movement, play, and neurotherapy tools to help their brain organise, regulate, and thrive.

DM or email Elise to find out how we can help you!

Introducing our latest offering, designed just for mum’s and their littlest love!

Are you feeling a little unsure about your bub’s milestones?

Perhaps seeking support to learn about your baby’s developmental movement?

Motherhood is the most amazing and also most challenging job out there, so it makes sense to make sure you are equipped and supported along the way.

While our classes are designed to optimise mama’s tool kits in particular, we will be sharing information and resources which will be of benefit to the whole family.

The 9 weekly sessions are based on contemporary, evidence informed research whilst also guiding meaningful discussions all things babyhood and development.

| The 9-week mama and baby program |

45 min classes include:

✨Learn Brain Gym® regulation strategies and tools
✨Discover the brain developmental blueprint
✨Access to Humble Kinder parent library
✨Learn about optimal milestones and their importance
✨Find out why developmental movement matters
✨Learn from parent and infancy local expert speakers (dates TBC)
✨Small group sessions to provide optimal support
✨Develop intentional and gentle parenting strategies

This has been a HK vision for a long time now, as early infancy is a highly influential period related to childhood achievements and development. The most earliest experiences and successes are commonly linked with mama and baby’s bond, health and well-being well into the future.

A U T I S M A W A R E N E S S D A Y 💙

On World Autism Awareness Day it’s time to stop and appreciate the richness and variety that all the people living with ASD bring to our worlds.

“Autism is as much a part of humanity as is the capacity to dream.” ~ Kathleen Seidel

However, it’s not always easy to parent a child on the spectrum. No two people with ASD are the same, it’s a spectrum after all, so why do we focus on a one size fits all approach?

Individualization is key, and it is super critical to work with a therapist who gets you and your child.

Are you feeling supported on your journey with Autism?

Hemisphere Integration |

Does your child get frustrated or lose their confidence with letter and number reversals? This will specifically help to address this challenge as well as hand writing efficiency.

This is a great exercise to develop the integration of left brain hemisphere and right brain hemisphere. To operate optimally, in everyday life, we need to have 🧠 symmetry.

You can see here to complete this activity, the left and right hemispheres are activated. Left hemisphere is responsible for the linear movement of correct letter formation and right hemisphere is responsible for the organic motion during the Lazy 8 tracing.

Who else wants to ⬆️ their 🧠 symmetry?

Brain Gym in Nature |
It was an absolute privilege to facilitate our very first Brain Gym in Nature therapy session with a small group of eager participants at the stunning last Saturday.

Our session was designed to incorporate sensory integration and Brain Gym movements via the true essence of Mother Nature. Just the pure magic of glorious sunshine, bird song with flora surrounds. Farmer Clint guided us throughout the market garden, where big kids and little kids were encouraged to get their hands dirty in order to enhance their micro biome where the benefits are thought to be akin to a daily probiotic (thanks for your insight).

We love empowering parents to appreciate the value and developmental benefits of children’s innate play in nature. Our session supported children to engage in activities which stimulate and develop the vagus nerve as well as the 8 sensory systems, all through authentic play.

To wrap it up, we rolled out the mats to consolidate our sensory therapy, to learn Brain Gym exercises and the significance of retained primitive reflexes for infant and childhood development.

Thank you to Katie and Clint for opening up your home on the farm. We’re so blessed to have the opportunity to visit this precious place just down the road!

Drop a 🌱 below if this sounds like your kind of experience!

i n f a n c y d e v e l o p m e n t |

With our first school term pretty much in full swing now, I feel like this is a timely info share -
Let’s take some time to appreicate and understand infancy (0-3) brain development.

It’s no secret we live in a society where culturally we focus on over achieving, comparing our littles, as well as academic outcomes (well meaning of course). This can often begin with bub’s early days and months.

However, with this lens, mothers and carers tend to lose sight of the critical, really big picture importance of emotional and motor development outcomes.
While it’s super important to keep a track of infant milestones and developmental progress, we must understand natural brain development, what the brain CAN DO and WHEN it CAN do it.

I have to admit, as a first time mum with my eldest, I was completely guilty of this, this was what is taught to us culturally and systemically. I found through my career in Education and time through parenting that using rigid, linear standardised testing as a one-size-fits all approach may not actually be serving our little’s (or our) best self.
[Please, don’t get me wrong, standardised assessment CAN be useful for measuring growth or lack of, however, it has demonstrated over time, it is not the be all and all.]

For example, we have two hemispheres of the brain, linear detail in the logic brain (left hemisphere) and overall image, big picture (right hemisphere) for integrated thought. The hemispheres are linked by the ‘super highway’ (corpus callosum). The more we access both hemispheres of the brain, the more intelligently we are able to function. Hence the significane of Brain Gym, brain integration therapy!

Let me expand on this - cross lateral movements such as a baby’s crawling activate both hemispheres in a balanced way. This necessitates coordinated movements of both eyes, both ears, both hands and both feet as well as balanced core muscles. We recognise that retained primitive reflexes are often the root cause for infant delays in this.

Retained Primitive Reflexes |

For some of us, this is a fresh new topic within our journey of parenting and education! However, understanding retained primitive reflexes as the main reason behind your child’s delayed development and/or undesired behaviours can be life changing!

By identifying retained primitive reflexes, we implement a holistic approach to empower you and support you.

We utilise Brain Gym movements as familiar patterns for the brain, to create stimulation and motor output. This helps to increase efficient nerve pathways and develop brain connections.

We are simply using the language of the brain when we focus on integrating reflexes in a safe and natural way.

If you are new to primitive reflex integration and want to learn more, we can help you.
Currently taking messagages via DM while we patiently nut out tech issues with our impending website! ✌🏻
