Remote Vocational Training Scheme - RVTS Training and retaining doctors in Australian communities.

RVTS is a distance education program for GP registrars in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and rural & remote communities across Australia. The endpoint is GP Fellowship (FACRRM and/or FRACGP/FARGP) & vocational recognition with Medicare Australia.

For many doctors working in rural and remote settings, training can feel isolating. RVTS exists to change that.

Through structured education, dedicated supervisors and educators, and a strong peer network, RVTS supports doctors to train toward Fellowship while staying in their communities — never feeling alone along the way.

When training is backed by genuine support, it builds confidence, connection, and capable doctors ready to serve where they’re needed most.
