Back fact #2 - our spine doesn’t wear out from everyday loading and bending!
A very old train of thought is (similar to age) that the more we use our back, the more it wear out, this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Quite the opposite in fact, the more we use it, the better it gets! Use it or lose it. *
*there is fine print with this statement - there can be some movements that when performed repetitively can cause issues, and these movements are those that are done without thought, without knowing your limits or repetitive movements where there is no balance or opposite movement.
But every day movement does not wear you out.
Sure there might be some every day movements that can cause pain or discomfort or even cause and injury but there is always a reason for this.
The body is constantly talking to you, telling you what it needs and what it doesn’t like - we just have to have both ears open and listen to it.
A great way to start learning how to listen to it is to look after yourself, get regular massage, chiro, osteo, acupuncture etc, to help tune you up, the better your body feels, the more it will talk to you telling you when things are beginning to cause a problem!
