🧱 Term 4 Therapy is back and spots are filling FAST!

From Tuesday the 14th of October to Thursday the 18th of December we’re building more than just Lego. We are building communication, confidence, and connection! 💬🧠💛

Led by our amazing Speechie Anja, each group supports social and emotional learning in a fun, play-based setting. ✨

Meet Anja! Our passionate and amazing Speech Pathologist here at Grow! 💬✨⁠

Anja’s journey into speech pathology started in the most heartfelt way, through the deep, non-verbal bond she shared with a little boy at her mum’s daycare. That spark of connection inspired a whole career dedicated to helping children find their voice in whatever way works best for them. 🧠💛

While she originally began studying psychology, something didn’t quite click… until her mum gently reminded her of the joy she’d felt supporting kids through communication and speech pathology instantly made sense.⁠ 🎓

⁠One of Anja’s most memorable moments? During AAC therapy, a clever little communicator described a Stitch toy as a “bunny dog” when he couldn’t find the exact word. That moment reminded her just how powerful it is when kids are given the tools to be understood. 🌈

⁠Her go-to therapy approach? Parallel play. Whether it’s Lego, drawing, or side-by-side play, Anja knows that sometimes the most meaningful learning happens when things feel calm, fun, and pressure-free. 🎨🧩

⁠And when it’s time to celebrate progress? Expect proud dance breaks, and celebrations! 🎉

If you’re picking her up a drink, she loves a coffee to kick-start the day and a herbal tea to wind down. We love balance. 🧘🏽‍♀️

She’s passionate, adaptable, and secretly a pro in a crisis (but maybe don’t ask her to fold laundry 🫠).

This Milestone Monday is all about our littles ones overall development! 🧠

From first friendships to school readiness, every stage of development builds the skills kids need to thrive. Here are a few big-picture milestones we look for along the way:

🤝 12–18 months – Social play: Playing alongside other children and beginning to connect with peers. 🛝

🎭 2–3 years – Imaginative play: Pretending with toys and everyday objects, building creativity, problem-solving, and language.

🚽 2–3 years – Toilet training: Gaining bladder and bowel control — a huge step in independence!

🗣 3–4 years – Following instructions: Understanding and carrying out simple directions, boosting both cognitive and communication skills.

🎒 5–6 years – School readiness: Building the foundation for literacy, numeracy, social skills, and self-care for a smooth start to formal schooling. ✏️

🧩Our Lego based therapy sessions aren’t just play — they’re structured, supportive programs that help children develop:

🐛 Communication skills through guided collaboration.

🍏 Fine motor skills with hands-on building.

Each week, our certified Lego facilitators guide children through structured builds, followed by creative FreePlay — where imaginations take over and skills shine.

Meet Bri. Our Speechie Superstar! 🌟

Bri originally started out training as a nurse through TAFE (healthcare runs in the fam!), but one quiet day changed everything — she got to shadow a speechie and immediately fell in love with the job! Fast forward a bit, and her parents reminded her that her own little sister saw a speechie growing up. Full circle moment? We think YES.

When it comes to therapy, Bri’s all about the big and the little wins. From helping kids express their wants and needs to supporting a little one to say “Mum” for the very first time — every milestone matters. 🌈

Her favorite therapy tool? Bri doesn’t have a fav therapy tool and she aims to use whatever is around her so that it is easily replicated! ✏️

How does she celebrate progress with her clients? In whatever way means the most to them — with their families, with high fives, or even just a huge smile!

We’re so lucky to have Bri on our team, and if you haven’t had the chance to meet her yet — we promise you’re in for a treat! 🥹💛
