Meet our complex care queen, Beth! 🩺👶

Since she was five, she’s been telling the world she wanted to be a “baby nurse” — and little Beth would be so proud to be doing just that. 💕

Her journey started in aged care, moved into a big Perth maternity hospital, and led her straight into the world of NICU nursing. 🤱

But what really stole her heart? The people. The families. The connections. Yes, the clinical stuff is important (and she’s amazing at it), but her true passion? Whole-person, family-centred care. She’s here for the child, the parents, the full picture — and we’re so thrilled that GROW gives her the space to do just that. 🐛💚

Her favorite therapy tool is Connection. Being fully present in a child’s world — playing, noticing, joining in. That’s where the true therapeutic magic lives.

Whether it’s big or small achievements, Beth’s celebrations are always tailored to the child. Whether it’s a party or a quiet high-five, the joy is always there. One little guy even had a party for every kilo he gained. 🥳

In her spare time she casually is a professional vocalist who sings at weddings and events with her husband (shoutout to )!
So yes, she can help your little one and sing you down the aisle. Iconic. 10/10. 🤌🏼

As babies grow, their bodies are on the
move. From rolling over to the wobbly first steps, gross motor milestones and skills help lay the foundation for independence, balance, and coordination. 🌱

Here’s a peek at some amazing movement milestones in the early years of your baby! ⬇️

🍼 Rolling Over (4–6 months)
That first flip from back to tummy isn’t just ridiculously cute, it’s a huge step in developing core strength, head control, and body awareness. Rolling helps babies learn how their body moves in space and builds the
coordination needed for later skills like sitting and crawling!

🐛 Crawling (6–10 months)
Whether they’re belly-scooting, army crawling, or up on all fours, crawling is one of the most essential movement milestones. Why? Because crawling develops cross-lateral coordination (opposite arm and leg movement), which is key for later skills like writing, dressing, and even reading. It also strengthens shoulders, arms, and core.

🪑 Pulling to Stand (9–12 months)
Pulling up on furniture means your child is building leg strength, balance and postural control. It’s also the beginning of ‘cruising’, where babies start taking side steps along furniture, preparing their bodies for walking!

🚶 Walking Independently (12–18 months)
Those first wobbly steps mark the shift to true
independence! Walking requires the integration of reflexes, core and lower body strength, and sensory input. In OT, we look at walking as more than just movement — it’s how kids begin to explore, engage, and take initiative in their world.

🏃 Running (18–24 months)
Running adds a whole new level of speed,
coordination, and confidence. It also requires refined dynamic balance (staying upright while moving quickly), joint stability, and trunk rotation.

Meet Jessie! Our Founder, Director & Speechie With Heart ✨

Here’s a little bit about Jessie and how we got to Grow Paediatrics! 👇

Jessie almost went into medicine, but didn’t want to leave her family to move to Melbourne — and thank goodness she didn’t! A last-minute pivot to speech pathology turned into a lifelong calling: helping people of all ages connect, communicate, and feel truly seen. 🧠

GROW was born from Jessie’s huge passion for supporting children and families in a relationship-first, holistic way and you can feel that love and purpose in everything she does. 🍏

One of her most rewarding moments was actually recently when one of her little humans (who she’s worked with since he was 10 months old!) recently turned to her and said, “I love you, Jess.” His mum later told her he’s only ever said that to five people in his life. Cue the tears. ALL the tears. This is our WHY! 🥹

Her favorite therapy tool is rapport, connection and relationship. Because trust is the most powerful tool in the therapy toolbox.

Her favorite way to celebrate her little people’s progress is big, clear, proud-as-punch feedback — for the client and their family. Every win is worth the spotlight.

Jessie’s hidden talent would be running an entire business… all whilst forgetting half of life’s important details. True CEO energy. 🤭
