🌟Always Learning 🌟

Exploring the “Rule of the Artery”

Even after 21 years as an osteopath, I’m still constantly learning. This weekend I had the chance to attend a course in Melbourne on something called the Rule of the Artery, a principle that sits right at the heart of osteopathy.

The idea is simple but powerful: when the body’s circulation is free and balanced, health follows. It’s about helping the body restore its own natural flow, not just blood, but the movement and vitality that connects every part of us.

The course brought together some of osteo’s greats including, Maxwell Fraval who has been practicing for over 40 years. Their wisdom, humility, and passion for the craft is a constant reminder of why I love what I do. It’s amazing how much more there is to discover about the body, even after decades in practice.

Osteopathy has always been about treating the person as a whole and learning experiences like this deepen that understanding. I left feeling inspired, refreshed, and grateful to keep growing in a profession that truly honours the body’s ability to heal itself.

🌸 A very special milestone 🌸

Our Osteopath, Thanuja, had the privilege of celebrating her eldest patient Gloria’s 100th birthday today 🎉

Gloria has been under Thanuja’s care for over 12 years, and it has been an absolute honour to support her journey in health and wellbeing.

Thanuja is especially grateful to Osteopath Kirrian Steer (pictured in the first photo), who kindly recommended Gloria to her at a time when Kirrian was changing professions out of osteopathy. That connection has grown into a beautiful therapeutic relationship spanning more than a decade.

Over the years, Gloria has blossomed with positivity, humour, style and grace, and continues to be an inspiration to all who know her. Reaching 100 is an incredible achievement, and we are so privileged to have shared in this journey with her. 💜✨

A special thank you to Wassim from La Maisons for the beautiful food, and to Gloria’s wonderful daughters Jan and Sue for organising such a heartfelt celebration. 💐

🎄 Christmas in July – Supporting Country Hope 🎄

Our Director, Thanuja, had the pleasure of attending Christmas in July at Downtown Pizzeria tonight – a heartwarming event filled with festive cheer, incredible community spirit, and a shared purpose of supporting families through the amazing work of Country Hope 💛

Hosted by the talented Megz Gardner – contestant in On Key for Kids 2025 – the evening was a celebration of generosity and joy, with live music, delicious food, and smiles all around.

We were proud to contribute to the night with a raffle prize of a 1-hour magnesium float + 1-hour massage, and even more thrilled to see it go to a well-deserving Downtown Pizzeria staff member! 🎁💆‍♀️

It’s always inspiring to be part of events that give back to local families doing it tough. Thank you to everyone involved in making this such a magical night for a great cause and well done Megz and Shane 💙

🌒 Winter Solstice 2025 – Honouring Courage, Connection & Community 🌟

Tonight, Inspire Health Albury’s director Thanuja had the privilege of attending the Albury Winter Solstice, a profoundly moving event that continues to shine a light on mental health, grief, hope, and healing in our community.

This beautiful gathering exists because of the unwavering courage of Annette and Stuart Baker, who created the Winter Solstice in memory of their beloved daughter Mary, who died by su***de in 2011. Through their grief, they have built something truly powerful — a space where silence is broken, and stories are honoured.

We were especially touched by this year’s guest speakers:
💬 Leisel Jones, sharing her powerful journey with mental health with openness, vulnerability and grace
💬 Gideon Haigh, offering deeply thoughtful reflections on community and resilience
💬 Amanda Tattersall, reminding us that in community lies strength

And a heartfelt shoutout to Ordette and Paul – two longtime volunteers and long term members of our Inspire Health Family who, year after year, nourish this event with their warmth and generosity (and their delicious food!). We’re grateful for their contribution and proud to share this photo of them with Thanuja from tonight 💙

As an allied health clinic, we see every day the importance of spaces like this — spaces that make it okay to talk, to cry, to hope, and to heal. Thank you to all who make it possible.

We know we’re not supposed to have favourites… but Gloria is definitely up there!

Turning 100 years old this year, Gloria has been part of the Inspire Health family since 2015, receiving regular osteopathic treatments.

Her secret to longevity? Movement and exercise — and she proves every day that age is just a number when you stay active, positive and connected.
