At Layered Nutrition & Dietetics, we’re proud to include Dott, our therapy dog, as part of your care. 🐾

A therapy animal is thoughtfully included in the work of a qualified health professional to support structured, goal-directed treatment—and Dott does just that.

Benefits of having Dott in sessions include:

· Helping you to feel calm and connected
· Assisting with building trust and rapport
· Improving mood and reducing stress and anxiety
· Research also suggests that engaging in Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) can help enhance self-esteem and wellbeing

Dott brings comfort, connection, and a little extra warmth to the work we do—because healing happens best when we feel safe, supported, and understood. 🐶

If you are seeking a dietitian, please feel free to reach out to Courtney via a direct message or email info@layerednd.com.au

"As we move into the Christmas and holiday season, conversations about food, weight, and body image often become louder and more pervasive.

This Christmas let’s focus on connection and support. Choose language that respects all bodies. Avoid commenting on weight or food choices. Create environments where everyone feels welcome at the table.

High-quality supervision has the power to transform our practice and strengthen the care we provide to our communities. It is an essential and ongoing component of professional practice for dietitians.

As a supervisor, I am dedicated to supporting my fellow clinicians on their journey to create a strong and supportive practice for their clients. Supervision provides great benefit to clinicians, clients and helps to strengthen and sustain our workforce.

The Cost of Appearance Ideals report, published earlier this year by the Butterfly Foundation, highlights how body dissatisfaction and appearance-based discrimination drive lifelong struggles and impose staggering social and economic costs.

Nearly half of Australians facing appearance-based discrimination have experienced weight-based discrimination.

It’s time to change the ideal — not the body!
