The more I research in order to help my clients' issues, the more I realise how much of our ailments both physical and mental have their origins in metabolic issues which begin in the liver. In my practice I have found the biggest block to most of my client’s issues is fear, or not feeling safe. Fear causes stress and anxiety and can stop us moving forward. The subconscious mind is designed to keep us safe and to move us away from things that it deems will cause us fear or pain and keeps us in the known (familiar) and away from the unknown (unfamiliar) because the unknown may not be safe. In my practice this is what I have found:
• Fear of making mistakes and failure = procrastination, perfectionism, not enough
• Fear of loss or disconnection = unresolved grief, quit smoking, trust issues
• Fear of being seen = confidence, unworthiness, weight issues
• Fear of pain = Keeps people in more pain
• General underlying feeling of not feeling safe = anxiety, depression, addictions, PTSD
The feeling of not feeling safe can come from an experience or set of experiences that happen in any time in our life including parts of our life that we have no mental memory of, such as, early childhood, the womb and even traumatic experiences that have been passed down through our DNA that our ancestors may have experienced. This fear then becomes the lens in which we view our world and prevents us moving forward.
