You may see many studios label classes as beginner, intermediate, or advanced.
Although these options can be handy, especially when first starting your pilates journey, and it is good to to have an understanding there may be some more complex moves you may not have experienced before.
However it could also unintentionally turn our thought pattern into thinking we would need to push harder past our capabilities.
Even the most advanced pilates or regular participants will still choose simpler variations.
It's still comes down to listening to your body and giving it what it needs at the time.
You may be recovering from injury
Perhaps new to exercise
Pregnant or post-partum
You may just not have the same amount of energy that day.
Or you would like to focus on your form and technique throughout your session
Whatever the reason, the levels and options are there for you, so you can move appropriately with how you're feeling.
Your awareness defines your abilities more than the intensity levels or feeling you need to push harder than necessary.
