We are happy to offer the women in our community x2 Pelvic Floor workshops in the coming weeks!

Join us for our interactive Pelvic Floor Workshop—your step towards understanding and improving your pelvic health!

WORKSHOP 1

WHEN:
Sunday 28th September
Time TBA

WHERE:
Empower Her Expo
Alice Springs Convention Centre

WORKSHOP 2

WHEN:
Friday 3rd of October 12:30 PM
WHERE:
Birth & Beyond Parent Resource Centre

Explore the big picture:
Think of your pelvic floor as a barrel, with the diaphragm on top, the core muscles (transverse abdominus, multifidus, obliques) making up the sides, and the pelvic floor at the base.

Unlock the anatomy:
Go deeper with the levator ani, piriformis, and obturator internus, and learn about the superficial muscles of the urogenital triangle.

What is your pelvic floor doing?
Let’s talk about pelvic floor tone—overactivity, underactivity, and why it matters for your health and comfort.

Get moving:
Discover a variety of creative cues for pelvic floor contractions—some weird, wonderful, and whacky! Try out techniques to find the perfect contraction for you in a fun, supportive group activity. (Pro tip: bring a towel!)

We’ll also discuss down training—strategies to relax and retrain your pelvic floor.

This hands-on session is led by our experienced Women’s Health and Pelvic Floor physiotherapist Brianna and is suitable for everybody. Come along, learn, and feel empowered to take control of your pelvic health!

Know someone who would benefit from this workshop? Please share to get the word out!

Nearly half (47%) of Australian women have experienced pelvic pain in the last five years, yet many wait years before getting a diagnosis or support for their pain. Slow diagnosis rates, stigma, and lack of information can leave women feeling powerless and struggling with chronic pain—even though treatment and support are available.

But pain is not normal, and you deserve relief and answers. You have the power to take control of your health—see a professional like a women’s health physiotherapist, get expert assessment, and start your journey to saying goodbye to chronic pelvic pain.

Your wellbeing matters. Choose to go from pain to power this Women’s Health Week.

Keeping your heart healthy starts with movement and support! Physiotherapy helps improve cardiovascular health, manage risk factors, and support ongoing wellbeing. If you have a heart condition, you may be eligible for the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Program—a program designed to help people with diabetes, heart disease, and lung conditions access Allied Health services, even if cost is a barrier.

The MDT Program is funded by the NTPHN and brings together a team of experts to help manage your condition and improve your quality of life. Discuss your eligibility with your GP, and if physiotherapy is needed, ask your GP for a referral.

Our clinic provides safe and evidence-based care to help you on your heart health journey.

Physiotherapy is a proven option for injury prevention in athletes, backed by strong PubMed research. Exercise-based injury prevention programs—especially those led or supervised by physiotherapists—significantly reduce the risk of both acute and overuse injuries.

Key strategies supported by research:
• Strength training: Can reduce sports injuries to less than one-third and nearly halve overuse injuries.
• Proprioception and balance exercises: Lower the risk of ankle and lower limb injuries by up to 46%.
• Neuromuscular and agility training: Effective in preventing ACL and lower extremity injuries, especially when programs are frequent, of longer duration, and include feedback.
• Individualised physiotherapy programs: Tailored assessments and exercise interventions help identify and address specific weaknesses or imbalances, further reducing injury risk.

If you’re an athlete looking to stay in the game, working with a physiotherapist for injury prevention is a smart, evidence-based choice.
