In partnership with the Alcohol and Drug Service of Central Australia, DASA offers a short term program that supports people who use alcohol or other drugs to 'Take A Break' in a safe, comfortable and supportive setting. Reach out if you are thinking of taking a break from alcohol or other drugs and need support to start the process.

A new residential respite program, Take a Break, is now available in Alice Springs! πŸ’›

It provides short-term care for people impacted by alcohol and other drugs who do not require hospital admission or long-term rehabilitation.

The program offers up to two weeks in a safe and supportive environment, giving individuals time to recover from withdrawal, stabilise, connect with support services, and plan their next steps.

It was terrific catching up with Chief Executive Officer Eloise Cole and Deputy Chief Executive Officer Jocelyn Dhu at DASA Alice Springs this morning.

It was interesting to hear about DASA’s programs including the Alternative to Custody program in Alice Springs and the Anindilyakwa Healing Centre on Groote Eylandt.

DASA offers a range of services to provide rehabilitation from use or dependency on alcohol and other drugs, and education to the Alice Springs and the Central Australia community.

Thank you to Eloise, Jocelyn, and the entire DASA team working on the frontline helping to reduce alcohol and drug addiction.

If you know something, please say something. Bring Angie home to her family.

The Northern Territory Police Force has increased the reward for information in relation to missing woman Angie Fuller to $500,000.

The new reward will now supersede the $250,000 reward that was announced in October of 2023.

Angie Fuller, who would now be 33, was last seen on the evening of Monday 9 January 2023, travelling on Tanami Road, 15kms west of the intersection at Stuart Highway.

She is described as of Asian heritage, around 165cm tall, medium build with long black hair. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and a beige skirt.

Multiple search areas were declared and after extensive efforts, Angie has never been located.

Detective Superintendent Drew Slape said β€œSadly, Angie’s family have been deprived of answers for almost 3 years.

β€œThe Major Crime Squad have been investigating Angie’s disappearance since 2023, and the circumstances surrounding her movements on 9 January remain suspicious.

β€œWe know people have information about what happened to Angie, and there is now $500,000 available for anyone who provides information that results in our detectives locating her.

"The Northern Territory Police Force will not stop investigating until Angie is found, it is as simple as that.”
