DAGAS Disability Action Group Alice Springs Dagas will publicly expose and highlight the talent and abilities of people in Alice Springs who live with a disability.

DAGAS will aim to bring about equality and dignity for people living with a disability in Alice Springs by providing a platform for such people to speak out publicly on issues that prevent equality and dignity. Founding Members and Administrators:

Aims and Objectives:

Dagas will aim to bring about equality and dignity for people living with a disability in Alice Springs by providing a platform for such people to speak out publicly on issues that prevent equality and dignity. Focus Statement:

Dagas will focus on socio-economic barriers, such as accessibility, safety and security, inequality, malpractice, discrimination and non-inclusion. Dagas will hold to Account disability agencies who they themselves practice inequality or poor service delivery. Membership types:

There will be two membership categories,

1, (WVR) with voting rights member
This category is for people in Alice
Springs living with a disability they
can apply to be a member by
emailing
bridgeovermurray@bigpond.com. Within 24 hrs, the founding
members will consider to approve or
disapprove your application. If
approved, you will be added to the
member's email stream.

2, (NVR) No voting rights member
This category is open to people
representing someone living with a
disability in Alice Springs. If approved by the founding members, 
such representatives will be added
to the email stream, but they will have
no voting rights. To apply to be a

Membership rights:

WVR, all members in this category will be regarded as spokespeople for Dagas; members in this category will also be entitled to put forward through the email stream an issue that they would like to speak out about. 

WVR members will also have full voting rights and, therefore, be able to vote on which issues Dagas will put their name toward. All members in this category can also ask another member to publicly promote their issue if the membership has approved the issue. NVR, Members in this category can ask the membership to approve an issue for public exposure, but they cannot vote to approve the issues acceptance by Dagas. Approval Process:

All members of Dagas, regardless of the membership category, are regarded as spokespeople for Dagas, providing the majority of the membership has agreed to their issue being challenged publicly under the banner of Dagas.

On the member's email stream, any member can raise a matter that they would like to go public with as a spokesperson for Dagas. Upon this, WVR members would have 24hrs to agree or disagree on the public exposure of this matter under the Banner of Dagas. Members can Vote with a simple agree or disagree! If the Disagree is more than 50% of the WVR members, There will then be a 72-hour email debate period on the matter, after which another 24hr vote period will be declared by one of the founding members. If any WVR member does not respond within the 24hr period to any issue raised, their non-participation in the process will be regarded as an agreement. If that vote is in favour of the matter raised, the member will be entitled to speak out on that matter as a spokesperson of Dagas. If the vote is not in favour, the member is still entitled to speak out about the matter but not as a spokesperson of Dagas. Closing Statement:
Dagas ( disability action group Alice springs)
is a no committee, no meetings action orientated organisation. We aim to be fast, flexible and high achieving on behalf of people living with a disability in Alice Springs. Dagas is open to all people living in Alice Springs who identify as living with a disability. However, if you’re not currently a participant of the NDIS and if you are fighting to be included as a participant of the scheme, you will be referred to your legal representatives or other agencies to pursue your case.
