Medical Receptionist 0.6 – 1.0 FTE position available

The Mall Medical Centre is motivated to provide high quality and holistic healthcare to make a positive difference in the Alice Springs community.

The Position
As a medical receptionist you are both the first and last point of contact a patient has with our Practice. As such we are looking for someone who is friendly, polite, orangised and professional at all times.

This role operates Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm with opportunities for varied start times and Saturday mornings 8.30am to 12.00pm.

For the right applicants, the position would be flexible for 0.6-1.0 FTE permanent part time / permanent full time.

Tasks and Responsibilities
• Welcome and check patient’s in to the practice
• Answer and redirect phone calls within the Practice.
• Schedule patient appointments using Pracsoft software
• Process billings and accounts
• Work within an integrated team of receptionists, practice manager, senior practitioners, registrars and practice nurse.
• Be the intermediary between the Practice Manager, doctors, patients and external healthcare professionals/providers in the Alice Springs region
• Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality is maintained
• Maintains cleanliness and hygiene at all time

Skills and Experience
• A background in healthcare is an advantage but not required for this position
• Professional, friendly and positive attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Reliable and enjoys being busy
• Well organised and able to work independently
• Computer skills and ability to navigate new software
• Empathetic with cultural, religious and gender diversity’s
• First Aid Certificate is not essential but is a bonus

MALL MEDICAL CENTRE IS HIRING!

Full time/part time position available.

The Mall Medical Centre is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team!

We are a busy private medical practice with 5 permanent general practitioners and a number of registrars in their final years of training. We aim to provide high quality and accessible healthcare to the Alice Springs community.

BRIEF ROLE DESCRIPTION
The main job responsibilities include:
• Greeting and assisting patients
• Scheduling appointments
• Maintaining up-to-date electronic records and keeping accurate accounts
• Processing payments
• Maintains cleanliness and hygiene at all times
• Liaising with the Practice Manager, GPs of the practice and other healthcare
professionals/providers in the Alice Springs region
• Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality

REQUIRED SKILLS
A background in healthcare is not required for this position. This is an exciting opportunity where you can gain new skills and insight into the healthcare field. This role will come with on the job training and opportunities for progression.

We are looking for an individual who is:
• Professional, friendly and positive attitude
• Able to work independently
• Computer skills and ability to navigate new software
• Reliable and hardworking
• Empathetic with cultural, religious and gender diversity awareness
