Casa's forever home is coming along quickly. Our new Day Program space will have a full kitchen, an area for expansion to run a small cafe, plenty of open and bright multipurpose space and a state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor area for our clients to enjoy.

Our day program has been undergoing some innovative changes. We are now offering music therapy sessions with Tyler, a music therapist. Our clients are learning how to express their thoughts and feelings through music. Did you know that music therapy can help decrease pain, anxiety and depression?

We are pleased to announce that Casa has partnered with Dr. Bliss Cavanagh of Sensory Spaces to bring a state-of-the-art sensory and de-escalation room to our new location at 20 Bath Street. The room will be part of our Day Program, and available in June 2023. More information to come.

The post is a little late, but 1 March was International Wheelchair Day. Our clients of HCS had a blast decorating their wheelchairs and walkers in celebration of how these contraptions assist daily life. It was wonderful to see clients participate in broader movements.

After hearing the devastating news surrounding the Turkey and Syria earthquakes, staff joined together to raise funds. Casa raised over $1,000 and donated to Medicins sans Frontieres (Doctors without Borders). When we pull together with a common purpose and focus, we can achieve anything.

Construction has really picked up at Casa's forever home, located at 20 Bath Street. The building is getting some needed TLC before we can move in later this year. A big shot out to Ant Galactic Pty Ltd for creating an amazing office space for Casa.

After months of preparation, the demolition and refurbishment has begun on Casa Services' forever home, located at 20 Bath Street. Once complete, the infrastructure will enable Casa to provide innovative disability services for the Alice Springs community.

What a day!
After 18 months of planning, designing, demolishing, rebuilding, fretting, refining and finessing - the ‘moment of truth’ arrived.
On Wednesday, Casa threw open the doors to new wheelchair-accessible housing in East Side.
Dozens of disability support professionals, staff and clients walked through one of the units, eager for a close look at the accessible features and spacious, comfortable rooms.
The response was overwhelmingly positive and we’re looking forward to welcoming new clients to the units soon.
To cheers and applause, Alice Springs Mayor Matt Paterson officially launched the five units: a milestone for Casa, and for accessible accommodation in Mparntwe.
One benefit of the scorching heat was to highlight the building’s energy efficiency. As the temperature outside nudged 37 degrees, inside it was 10 degrees cooler – with doors open and the air-conditioning switched off. Impressive!
Thanks to DKJ Architects and Edifice Constructions for their hard work and patience in designing and retrofitting the five units to high quality standards.
Thank you, everyone who came along this week to celebrate and make it memorable - It was a wonderful way to mark the end of a big teamwork project.
We can’t wait to see new clients move in - and have room to move.
