🌈 Neurodiversity Celebration Week | 16–22 March 2026

This week we recognise Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a global initiative that aims to challenge stereotypes and celebrate the many strengths and talents of neurodivergent individuals.

Neurodiversity refers to the natural differences in how people think, learn and experience the world. This includes conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and Tourette syndrome.

At our clinic, we believe in creating a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone. Neurodivergent individuals bring unique perspectives, creativity and problem-solving abilities that enrich our communities.

💙 Let’s use this week to:
• Promote understanding and acceptance
• Celebrate different ways of thinking and learning
• Support neurodivergent individuals and their families

🧠 Brain Awareness Week | 16–22 March 2026

Brain Awareness Week is a global campaign dedicated to increasing understanding of brain health and the importance of looking after our brains at every stage of life.

Our brain controls everything we do — from thinking and memory to movement, mood and sleep. Taking care of your brain health is just as important as looking after the rest of your body.

Simple ways to support and promote brain health include:
✔ Staying physically active
✔ Eating a healthy, balanced diet
✔ Getting quality sleep
✔ Challenging your mind with learning or puzzles

Brain Awareness Week is also a time to raise awareness about neurological conditions and the importance of research and support for those living with brain disorders.

If you have concerns about your memory, mood, or neurological health, our team is here to help. Please speak with your GP to discuss any concerns.

📞 Contact the clinic on (08) 6147 6100 to book an appointment.

😴 World Sleep Day – Prioritize Your Sleep!

Today is World Sleep Day, a great reminder that good quality sleep is essential for your overall health and wellbeing. Sleep plays a vital role in supporting your immune system, improving concentration, boosting mood, and helping your body recover and repair.

Many people struggle with sleep issues such as insomnia, restless sleep, or feeling tired even after a full night in bed. Poor sleep can affect your physical health, mental health, and day-to-day functioning.

💤 Tips for better sleep:
• Keep a regular sleep schedule
• Avoid screens before bedtime
• Limit caffeine in the afternoon and evening
• Create a calm, comfortable sleep environment

If you are having ongoing trouble sleeping, our doctors are here to help. Sleep concerns can sometimes be linked to underlying health issues, and support is available.

📞 Call (08) 6147 6100 to book an appointment with one of our GPs to talk about your sleep and ways to improve it.

🌍 World Kidney Day

Your kidneys work hard every day to keep your body healthy. They filter waste, balance fluids, control blood pressure and support overall wellbeing — but kidney disease often develops silently, without early symptoms.

This World Kidney Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to think about their kidney health. Around 1 in 10 people worldwide are affected by chronic kidney disease, and early detection can make a big difference.

💧 Simple ways to protect your kidneys:
• Stay hydrated
• Eat a balanced, healthy diet
• Keep blood pressure and blood sugar under control
• Avoid smoking
• Have regular health checks with your GP

If you have risk factors such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, or a family history of kidney disease, regular check-ups are especially important.

📞 If you’d like to discuss your kidney health or arrange a check-up by calling (08) 6147 6100 or book online via https://www.hotdoc.com.au/medical-centres/alkimos-WA-6038/jupiter-health-alkimos/doctors

☀️ Melanoma March – Skin Cancer Awareness ☀️

March is Melanoma March, a time to raise awareness about melanoma – the most serious type of skin cancer. Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, but early detection can save lives.

Melanoma can appear as a new spot or an existing mole that changes in:
• Size
• Shape
• Colour
• Border
• Or starts to itch or bleed

Remember the ABCDE rule when checking your skin:
A – Asymmetry
B – Border irregularity
C – Colour variation
D – Diameter larger than 6mm
E – Evolving or changing

🔎 Regular skin checks are important, especially if you notice any new or changing spots.

Our doctors offer skin checks and mole assessments. If you have concerns about your skin, please book an appointment.

🌞 Protect your skin, check your skin, and encourage your loved ones to do the same.

We have dedicated skin check clinics running from April with Dr Moh. All of our GP's offer skin checks and can be booked by calling (08) 6147 6100 or by booking online via https://www.hotdoc.com.au/medical-centres/alkimos-WA-6038/jupiter-health-alkimos/doctors

💛 March is Endometriosis Awareness Month 💛

Endometriosis affects 1 in 9 women and people assigned female at birth in Australia — yet many suffer in silence for years before receiving a diagnosis.

Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, often causing symptoms such as:
• Severe period pain
• Pelvic pain
• Pain during or after s*x
• Heavy periods
• Fatigue
• Fertility challenges

If you or someone you know is experiencing ongoing pelvic pain or difficult periods, please book an appointment with one of our doctors to discuss your symptoms.

💛 You are not alone. Awareness leads to earlier diagnosis and better support.

⏰ Missed Appointments Matter

In the month of February, our clinic had 22 missed appointments.

That equates to 3 hours and 40 minutes of appointment time where other patients could have been seen.

We understand that life gets busy and unexpected things happen. However, missed appointments without notice impact:

• Children needing reviews
• Chronic disease management
• Skin checks and preventative care
• Our clinical team’s time and resources

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. Please keep in mind our clinic has a 2 hour notice period, any cancellation within 2 hours of your appointment time may incur a missed appointment fee.

Together, we can ensure everyone gets the care they need when they need it ❤️

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
