I started It's a Lifestyle Health and Fitness to teach people how to set healthy goals that are sustainable forever. All too often we use diet and exercise as a reward or punishment. What if we learnt to enjoy looking after ourselves and removed the shame and guilt associated when we don't get it exactly right.

Most people don’t hate exercise…
they just hate doing it alone.

I’ve seen people go from dreading workouts…
to actually enjoying it and showing up every week.

Not because they suddenly got motivated —
but because they had the right support (and someone doing it with them).

Coming up to 2 years in my Alkimos studio, and honestly… this is what I’m most proud of 👇

People who started out:
• Feeling out of place in gyms
• Not knowing where to start
• Trying before and ending up sore for a week or quitting

Now:
• Showing up consistently
• Moving better day to day
• Feeling more confident in themselves

And a big part of that?

👉 Not doing it alone.

Like Paige — didn’t enjoy training at the start… now she shows up for herself every week.

Ricky & David — busy lives, aches and all… still getting it done together twice a week.

Michelle — travels, full plate… but built habits that actually stick.

This is what happens when you stop trying to go “all in”…
and start doing what actually works.

Because most people don’t need to go harder —

They just want to:
• move without aches
• lift their arms overhead without thinking about it
• put a seatbelt on easily
• keep up with their kids or grandkids

Without feeling smashed or sick from workouts.

And for a lot of people…
that starts with having someone next to you who’s in the same boat.

Someone asked me the other day …

Why does Mondays plan never work for me!!

It’s ok if you feel this way I am sure a lot will also understand where you’re coming from.

It’s not that you are rubbish at sticking to a plan. You want to do it all.

What I get my clients to do is to get curios.

Take a step back write things down or take some pictures so we can have a look at what’s going on.

You know yourself what you need to do it’s just finding away to fit it in with your already busy lifestyle.

Ever feel like food is loud in your head?You’re not even that hungry…but you keep thinking about what’s in the cupboard ...

Ever feel like food is loud in your head?

You’re not even that hungry…
but you keep thinking about what’s in the cupboard or fridge.

This is called food noise, and a lot more people experience it than you’d think.

Sometimes it’s:
• stress
• not eating enough earlier in the day
• emotions needing comfort

One small trick that can help take the edge off:

Pause – Breathe – Proceed

Before grabbing the snack, pause for a moment and take a breath.
If you still feel hungry, try adding something with fibre or protein first.

For example:
• fruit
• salsa with veggies
• protein yoghurt
• tempeh
• eggs

This can help you feel more satisfied and steady, which often makes the next meal feel less stressful. Sometimes it even helps people feel more comfortable cooking something at home rather than grabbing takeaway because they’ve been restricting all day.

No restriction. No guilt.

Often the craving quiets down because your body actually needed fuel.

Food isn’t the enemy.
Sometimes the body is just asking for something different.

Client of the Month 💛

This month goes to Michelle.

Not because everything has been perfect…
but because of the awareness she’s building.

Recently she said she felt like a Big Mac.

But instead of going straight into “I can’t have that” she paused and noticed where it was actually coming from.

Stress.
Work, events, family… a lot going on.

That shift right there is huge.

Not restriction.
Not guilt.
Just understanding what’s going on and having something in place for those moments.

Michelle will also be the first to tell you she doesn’t always love training… and if you’ve been around long enough you’ve probably heard a bit of her colourful language mid-set 😅

But she still shows up.

And that’s the real win.

Turning up, noticing the patterns, and slowly building habits that actually stick.
