🌸Meet Daisy — one of our regions little legends.

This month at Allora Medical, we’re proud to shine a light on Apert Syndrome Awareness Month, and share the story of Daisy, a bright and joyful local who inspires us every day.
👧🏼 What is Apert Syndrome?
Apert Syndrome is a rare genetic condition that affects the growth of the skull, face, hands, and feet. It occurs in approximately 1 in 65,000 to 88,000 births.
🧬 It’s caused by a change (mutation) in the FGFR2 gene, which plays a role in bone development before birth.

✋ Features can include:
Early fusion of skull bones (craniosynostosis)
Webbed or fused fingers and toes (syndactyly)
Distinct facial features
Hearing, vision, and dental differences
Potential developmental delays or other health needs

💛 Children with Apert Syndrome may face medical challenges, but they also radiate strength, resilience, and spark — just like Daisy.

🌙 Sleep & Wellbeing – Why It Matters More Than You Think

As the seasons change, so can our sleep patterns and that can affect more than just your energy levels.

Quality sleep plays a huge role in supporting
✅ A strong immune system
✅ A balanced mood
✅ Better focus and energy throughout the day

If you’ve been feeling run down, irritable, or constantly reaching for a third coffee, it might be time to check in with your sleep routine.

🛌 Try setting a consistent bedtime, reducing screen time before sleep, and creating a relaxing wind-down ritual. Still struggling? Let’s talk.

Your health matters and it starts with a good night’s rest.

📞 Book an appointment at Allora Medical Practice if sleep issues are affecting your wellbeing.
