✅ How to Store Eggs Correctly
1. Keep them in the fridge

Store eggs at or below 5°C (41°F).

Use the main body of the fridge, not the door, as the temperature is more stable.

2. Keep them in their carton

The carton protects the eggs and helps prevent moisture loss.

It also shows the best before date.

**3. Store with the pointed end down

This helps keep the yolk centred and the egg fresh longer.

4. Don’t wash eggs (unless soiled and you plan to use them immediately)

Washing removes the natural protective coating (the bloom).

5. Keep away from strong odours

Eggs are porous and can absorb smells, so avoid storing near foods like onions or garlic.

6. Check freshness regularly

Float test: place an egg in a bowl of water.

Sinks and lays flat = fresh

Stands upright = older, still usable

Floats = discard

7. Use older eggs first

Practice FIFO – First In, First Out.

Jenco 20% Chick Starter Mash is designed to give your chicks the best start to life. This perfectly balanced combination of nutritious grains is specifically designed for chicks, and is
mixed and mashed for easy digestion and maximum nutrition.
The fully vegetarian feed has no added meat by-products and is completely medication free. It includes:
• Extra calcium and limestone for overall health
• Vitamin E to enhance the immune system
• Natural sweeteners (molasses and vegetable oil) to increase palatability.
Once your chicks reach Pullet stage, you should switch to the 16% Pullet Grower mash.
