Tumby Bay Jetty on Eyre Peninsula SA.
Looks like our plans to head off for a couple of months may be on the back burner for a while. Our little town of Allora already has no diesel fuel available. Hoping to find some around Warwick tomorrow.

12 months ago to the day I headed down to Killarney to check out Queen Mary and Daggs Falls. You may recall we were in the middle of the Cyclone Alfred dramas. This time it’s just some nice consistent rain so may go for another look today.
Update, due to our local running out of diesel I will postpone the run to Killarney and keep my trips to the essential ones.

Over the last week or so we have had the pleasure of camping at the Goomburra Valley Campground. Located around 30 kms off the New England Highway between Warwick and Allora. Our hosts Chloe and Josh have been most welcoming and accommodating. The camp itself has absolutely everything you could need including no phone service if you really want to get away. (Limited wifi is available in case you absolutely need it ). It’s incredibly clean and tidy catering for those who have everything they need right down to those just swagging it. I think the photos tell the story especially if you love a bit of nature. The bonus is the Long Neck Farm just across the road which is open over the weekend for great coffee and freshly baked delights. A family owned and run business recently reopened and with big plans and quirky as all get out. A big thumbs up for both places.

What a lovely way to wake up, I was lying in bed in the motorhome when I heard some noise at my window and looked out to see what it was. There were two King Parrots on the awning at my window, so tame it’s crazy to the point I went to pick up my thongs off the ground and one landed on my back. Here are a few pics, hope you enjoy.

Camping at Goomburra Valley Campground and the locals are very friendly. I’m hoping to do a more comprehensive post before we leave as this place is certainly worth a little road trip.

Having a few days away, but lucked out on booking with a park full of people celebrating a 40th birthday, hoping that by lunchtime the serenity will return. At least this guy hung around long enough for a quick photo.

My Australia Down Under

I created this page so I could share my love of this great country with like minded people. I am fortunate to be able to take my passion of photography along with my love of travelling to places many people never get to go and call it my job. I often travel with my wife Kim.

A big part of what I do involves photographing an amazing event each year known as the Great Endeavour Rally raising funds for people with an intellectual disability. Each year we head to amazing destinations, often places that the general public are not allowed to travel. We spend time on private properties, travels roads only the brave would challenge and enjoy the company of some amazing people.

I also have the opportunity to photograph some pretty cool events from V8 Supercars , Rally Australia , World Surf League events like the Quiksilver Pro on the Gold Coast and Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach in Victoria and The Australian Schools Sailing Titles at Lake Macquarie NSW.

In 2019 we are planning a five week long road trip , destination unknown other than picking up Kim from Perth airport after I drive across from Adelaide and dropping her back to Perth on the way back ( this will allow Kim to save 6 days of leave just getting to and from our start point ). Our only criteria are our start and finish dates . We hope to catch up with good friends who will be on road somewhere at sometime. In the past we have decided the direction of our trips by simply choosing left or right at the front gate a but with no plans other than a direction.
