It`s with heavy and grateful hearts that we have had to say goodbye to Banjo, the healing dog here at Namatjira.
Banjo, passed away a few days ago at the ripe old age of 15. He has been the resident dog here Namatjira his whole life providing companionship, acceptance and support the only way a dog can to our staff and residents alike since he was a young fella.
He chose to come to us from a farm nearby, always with us and not going home. They generously let us keep him after it was clear where he wanted to be. Surrounded by men who needed him to help with their healing.
He always gave love to everyone and knew who needed it most.
Even in his dotage he did his rounds everyday bringing positivity, affection and keeping an eye out for snacks or anything pesky he might have a bark at.
He`s always been here and always will be in our hearts and minds.
He was an amazing animal, we love and will miss Banjo!
