From July 1st 2025 (tomorrow) the National Lung Cancer Screening Program will begin.
https://www.health.gov.au/our-work/nlcsp/how-it-works
This is for current or ex-smokers(quit within last 10yrs) who are aged 50-70yrs with no symptoms, who have smoked at least 30 'pack years' of to***co ci******es.

If you are eligible and agree to participate, your doctor will give you a referral for a low-dose CT scan of the chest.

[The term ‘pack-year’ is a way of measuring the number of ci******es a person has smoked in their lifetime.
Pack-years are calculated by multiplying the number of cigarette packs smoked per day by the number of years the person has smoked.
For example, 1 pack-year is equal to smoking 20 ci******es (1 pack) per day for 1 year, or 40 ci******es per day for half a year]

Lung cancer screening will be available to eligible individuals from July 2025. Check if you're eligible for the National Lung Cancer Screening Program and learn how the process will work.

Looking after the health of our community

Welcome to Alstonville Clinic. We offer a complete family medical service including emergency care, family planning, obstetric care, childhood medicine, health checks, palliative care, minor surgery, health assessments and chronic disease management.

The Alstonville Clinic doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and admin staff work together as a team to serve our local community. We encourage our patients to take an active role in their healthcare and work together with us to improve their health.

To minimise delay, consultations are by appointment. We allocate 15 minutes for standard consultations. If you anticipate spending longer with the doctor, please let the reception staff know at the time of booking.

We are not a ‘bulk billing’ clinic, however children 5 years and under will be bulk billed for consultations during normal working hours.
