🌸 Behind every person living with dementia is often a carer – a quiet hero giving their time, energy, and love day after day.

The physical demands are heavy, but so are the emotional ones. That’s why support, rest, and release are so important.

This week, I want to say thank you. To the carers who bend without breaking, who hold steady when life feels unsteady... you deserve care too.

💖 Book in time for yourself, whether it’s a massage, a stretch class, or simply a deep breath. Your health matters.

🌿 Dementia doesn’t just affect memory... it impacts mobility, balance, and confidence too.

Gentle, consistent daily movement can help:
✔️ Improve circulation
✔️ Maintain flexibility
✔️ Support independence for longer

Carers can join in too – turning exercise into a shared moment of connection. Even simple chair stretches, a short walk outside, or dancing to a favourite song can bring joy and ease tension.

✨ Movement is medicine for both the body and the heart.

🌸 Dementia touches so many families, including my own. While there’s no cure yet, we do know that lifestyle choices can make a difference.
✅ Staying active
✅ Engaging the brain
✅ Connecting socially
✅ Prioritising rest and care

These habits not only reduce risk, they also support carers who need strength, balance, and resilience every day.

This week let’s raise awareness, support carers, and honour those living with dementia. Every step, stretch, and breath counts.

🪑 Quick Carer Stretch:
◾ Sit on the edge of a chair, feet flat
◾ Place your hands on your thighs
◾ Inhale, lift your chest and lengthen your spine
◾ Exhale, gently fold forward, letting your head drop
◾ Hold for 3 breaths, slowly roll up

This simple stretch relieves tension in your back and neck, which are common sore spots for carers who spend hours sitting or supporting a loved one physically.

Small movements like this can help you release stress and return to caregiving with more ease and energy.

💖 Caring for someone with dementia can be a full-time, heart-and-body job. But too often carers put themselves last.

Massage and mindful bodywork aren’t luxuries; they’re essential tools that:
✔️ Release built-up tension
✔️ Improve sleep and energy
✔️ Reduce aches from physical caregiving tasks

If you’re a carer, giving yourself permission to rest and restore isn’t selfish. It’s survival, it’s strength, and it helps you keep showing up with love.

This Dementia Action Week, I’m honouring carers everywhere – your wellbeing matters too.

🧠 Did you know that movement benefits the brain as much as the body?

Regular exercise improves blood flow, reduces inflammation, and even supports the parts of the brain linked to memory and learning. For those living with dementia, gentle movement can help maintain mobility and independence.

And for carers, moving your own body is vital too. A short walk, Pilates session, or stretch break can help you recharge and cope with the demands of caregiving.

✨ Remember: caring for your health means you’ll have more energy to care for others.

Dementia affects not only those living with it, but also the incredible people who care for them. I know this personally by watching my dad face dementia, and supporting my mum as his carer, showed me the toll it takes physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Research shows that staying physically active and keeping the brain engaged can help reduce the risk of dementia. Simple daily movement, gentle stretches, and mindful exercises aren’t just good for the body, they help support the mind too.

For carers, prioritising your own movement and self-care is essential. Even a few minutes of stretching, walking, or simple mobility exercises each day can:
✔ Ease tension and fatigue
✔ Support posture and reduce pain from long hours of caregiving
✔ Boost energy and mental clarity

💡 Try this simple movement tip:
Sit tall in a chair, roll your shoulders back 10 times, gently stretch your arms overhead, and finish with a deep breath. Do this once in the morning and once in the evening – small habits make a big difference.

If you’re caring for a loved one or just want to keep your body and mind strong for the years ahead, bodywork, massage, and mindful movement can help you stay resilient, balanced, and energised.

💖 This Dementia Action Week, let’s remember to care for ourselves as much as we care for others.

💆‍♀️ Relief.
That’s the first word most clients say after their massage.

Relief from tight shoulders.
Relief from that nagging lower back.
Relief from stress that’s been sitting heavy all week.

Massage isn’t just a luxury; it’s a reset button for your body and mind. ✨

If your body has been whispering (or shouting!) for relief, maybe it’s time to listen.

Book yourself that hour. You deserve to feel lighter, freer, calmer.

👉 Your future self will thank you.

Because future me deserves a strong core, flexible hamstrings, and a pelvic floor that doesn’t give up under pressure 😅💪

Mat Pilates is where we breathe, engage, and pretend we’re having the time of our lives while shaking through the hundred or criss-cross (my fav).

Tag your Pilates bestie who’ll still be rolling like a ball with you in 20 years! 🔄✨

They look easy enough… but are they? 😉

Leg circles on the reformer: smooth, sassy, and way spicier than they seem 😂🔥

✨ Core? On.
✨ Inner thighs? Burning.
✨ Glutes? Engaged.
✨ Hips? Opening.
✨ Mind? Focused.

The secret to incredible and juicy hips? Make those circles BIG.
The bigger the circle, the more your hips have to work, and we want that! More mobility = more strength, flow, and freedom in your body 💪

So next time you’re on the reformer, don’t hold back ! Circle like you mean it.

💜 Book your next class and come feel the magic.
