The Program
GoodLife Care has been helping people living with a disability achieve their hopes and dreams. We support our clients to live as independently as possible by assisting with daily tasks, community participation and access to support services. Our clients predominately have a cognitive impairment resulting from intellectual disabilities, autism and acquired brain injury. We support our clients with varying abilities, behaviours, and support needs, including those requiring complex support.
The Role - SCHADS Level 2.1 - Casual, Multiple Vacancies
As a Disability Support Worker, you will join a passionate and supportive team, who provide holistic care to our clients. You will provide direct support to a vulnerable and at-risk client living with a disability in a residential or community setting. Through forming healthy and supportive relationships with your client, you will empower them to live independently and ensure their needs are met.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
• Role modelling skills to assist clients achieve their goals in accordance with their NDIS plan
• Care for and nurture vulnerable, marginalised clients through the application for trauma informed care and client-centred practice
• Ensuring accurate reporting, documentation and administrative requirements are adhered to
• Providing accurate support to clients including personal care, improved independent living skills, transport and other services

You will be empowering, encouraging, and inspiring. You will have experience in working with your clients to achieve their goals through your hard work and dedication.
You will be flexible to work across a 24/7 Roster, including public holidays and weekends.
You will also have the following skills and experience:
• Certificate III in Individual Support and / or Certificate IV in Disability Services + extensive experience
• Degree in Human Services or a related field (nursing, social work, teaching or psychology) is desirable
• Demonstrated experience with working with vulnerable and at-risk clients with high complex needs
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and develop
• The ability to deal with sensitive issues with empathy and maintain confidentiality at all times
• Developed resilience to provide consistent and ongoing support to clients with high complex needs
Specific Employment Requirements

You will be required to have, or be willing to obtain, the following:
• Valid, Full SA Driver’s License
• Road Worthy Vehicle
• COVID 19 Vaccination (First dose obtained, second dose booked)
• Valid NDIS Employment Screening Check
• Valid Department of Human Services Working With Children’s Check
• Apply First Aid / CPR
• MAPA Training
