A big warm welcome to Dr Louise Brinkmann who has just started with us in Anglesea. Please make her welcome as weโ€™re sure you all will!

Dr Louise completed her medical degree at Flinders University in Adelaide in 2022, spending her clinical years in Mt Gambier followed by her Internship in Warrnambool. She then made the move to the Surf Coast, working as a resident doctor at University Hospital Geelong, and is now continuing her journey as a GP registrar in beautiful Anglesea.

Louise enjoys the variety that General Practice brings and loves working alongside patients of all ages to support their health goals in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Before becoming a doctor, Louise spent over 20 years as a graphic designer, sparking a deep passion for the Arts. Outside of work you will find Louise scratching her creative itch on a variety of artistic pursuits, running the Surfcoast trails and practicing her pop-up in the big deep blue.

For some men seeing a GP, potentially for the first time, can be confronting or embarrassing. There are lots of things you can do to prepare yourself, but rest assured that GPs have seen and heard it all before, and everything remains confidential. If you're worried about your health, physical or mental, make an appointment with a GP.

Celebrating Men's Health Week on the King's Birthday!

๐Ÿ“… Today marks the start of Men's Health Week 2025 and coincides with the King's Birthday holiday!

๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธ Men's Health Week (9โ€“15 June) is dedicated to raising awareness about the unique health challenges men face and promoting strategies for better physical and mental health.

๐Ÿ’ช We're currently taking The Push Up Challenge to raise awareness around mental health and su***de - with men making up 75% of su***des.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Join the Australian Men's Health Forum's free online lunchtime chats this week at 1pm AEST, covering topics like Prostate Cancer, Stroke Awareness, and Helping Mates.

We'd encourage anyone thinking about their health to make time to see their GP and start making steps towards a healthier future. Get those numbers checked and start the conversation around your health.

๐Ÿ’‰ MPOX VACCINES NOW AVAILABLE AT ANGLESEA MEDICAL! ๐Ÿ’‰

Mpox is a viral infection that can spread through close skin-to-skin contact, including during s*x or shared use of s*x toys with someone who has the virus. While itโ€™s usually a mild illness, it can be painful and, in some cases, lead to complications.

Symptoms to look out for include:
* Fever or chills
* Ulcers, rash, lesions or sores (often painful)
* Muscle aches
* Swollen lymph nodes
* Fatigue

Vaccination is a safe and effective way to protect yourself and others โ€” particularly if you're at higher risk.

If you think you may have been exposed to mpox, are experiencing symptoms, or belong to a higher-risk group, please call Anglesea Medical to book a consultation. Our team is here to offer confidential, supportive care and help you decide if the mpox vaccine is right for you.

๐Ÿ“ž Give us a call today to book your appointment or ask any questions. (03) 4215 6700
