Hazardous surf conditions may develop along the entire New South Wales coast during Wednesday and continuing into Thursday. A Hazardous Surf Warning has been issued for the Byron, Coffs, Macquarie, Hunter Coast and Sydney Coasts.

The hazardous surf will be driven by a deepening low pressure system over the Tasman Sea, well offshore from the NSW coast. This low is expected to generate long period, deceptively powerful south-easterly swells, directing them towards the east coast of Australia.

This may cause hazardous conditions for coastal activities such as swimming and rock fishing over the New Year period.

Congrats to Michael Baldock (Patrol Captain #3) for been awarded his 1st Clasp for his national medal for his 25years consecutive service to Surf Life Saving.

Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) congratulates the 212 Surf Lifesavers recognised with National Medals in SLSA National Medal Batch 54.

This year, 191 members received National Medals for 15 years of service and 20 were awarded their 1st Clasps for 25 years of service. A special mention to Richard Lissenden ESM from North Bondi SLSC, who has been recognised with his 2nd Clasp for 35 years of dedication to the Surf Life Saving movement.
