So proud of my parents' (Pam and Rob Morris) achievement in being awarded this prestigious award by the Australasian Arabian Breeders Coalition, induction into the Australasian Arabian Breeders Hall of Fame.
Mum is very honoured to have been awarded this. Dad would be so proud. Mum spent much of her lifetime breeding horses and 'touched' the hearts of many along the way.
**Avondale Arabians - breeders of Arabian horses for around 50 years!
I will be compiling a collection of historical moments, stories and photographs, which will be used to create a video history of Avondale Arabians. If anyone has stories or photos they wish to share for this digital story then please email me at avonviewarabians@gmail.com . The completed video will be uploaded to the the Coalition website early next year,
Interestingly I would like a good clear photo of Mum & Dad together, preferably with a horse (or two), at a horse show. I have hundreds and hundreds of hard copy photos but finding a good clear one where they are both in the same picture is proving a little elusive. If you happen to have one I would love to see it.
If you have any comments you'd like to share, please feel welcome to add them in a comment to this post. Mum doesn't do computers and FB but I do share things with her on my visits.

We are thrilled to announce the recipients of our annual awards.
Each year, the Australasian Arabian Breeders Coalition will induct new members into the Australasian Arabian Breeders Hall of Fame.

This year we congratulate;
FOREST HILL ARABIAN STUD - Peter & Jenny Pond
AVONDALE ARABIANS - Rob & Pam Morris

Our inductees will be awarded on Saturday evening, February 3th, Willinga Park at our Legacy Awards dinner. We welcome you to come and join us to help celebrate these remarkable breeders. Video documentaries honoring each farm will be launched during the evening. To book your seats for this special night, email austarabianbreederscoalition@gmail.com

To choose our recipients, nominations were received from all AABC founding members, those with the most nominations are the winning recipients this year, we congratulate Forest Hill and Avondale on being recognised for this award.

The long history of Arabian horse breeding in Australia and New Zealand is populated with many of the most innovative, knowledgeable, tenacious and colourful breeders of the last two centuries, whose vision, dedication and insight still positively and progressively impacts the Arabian horse worldwide. The Australasian Arabian Breeders Hall of Fame has been established to recognise and honor those breeders and breeding programs of significance that have not only established and stewarded the essential foundation of purebred Arabian breeding in Australasia, but whose enduring
legacy still profoundly influences the breed to modern day.

Jantason Cas Ibn Rish (Ralvon Pilgrim) at an Ag show 1989, shown here by mum. Very influential in the Avondale breeding program 'Cas' crossed well with the Akhu progeny.

One of my all time favourite photos at Avondale. Avondale Jewel and Avondale Select. Think the Jack Russell may be Mitzi. Love the timing.
It’s been on my wall for years. And in its day spent some time as a poster hung in the local camera shop in Horsham.

Avondale Arabians was my parents’, Pam and Rob Morris’s Arabian Stud founded in the 1950’s. They bred and showed Arabians and derivatives extensively through until 2013, while also farming sheep, cattle and crops. In the early days, they also bred Australian Ponies, with the stud prefix, Fiery Creek, named after the Fiery Creek which ran through their property.

Mum used to ride in her younger days. After a brain aneurysm in 1975, she stopped riding due to the risks to her health. At the same time I was in hospital for approx three months after a jumping accident, where a horse fell on top of me. Needless to say it was a trying time for Dad. After Mum’s recovery things were never quite the same. However, together she and Dad would go on to breed many foals and show extensively, often enlisting the help of friends.

Akhu was a key stallion in the lives of Mum & Dad, and their breeding program. He was an amazing horse contributing so much to the success of the stud.
