There are many women who have not yet had or perhaps never will have the opportunity to give birth to children who are still mothers. Pregnancy loss is more common that we think, often endured in silence, and never our fault. In those few weeks or months of pregnancy, we create in our hearts an entire life... who will they look like? What will they be like? Where will they sleep? What will they dream?
When there is a loss, this is the loss we suffer.

Each Mother’s Day I think of those who do not have a child to wake up overnight to, to lift out of the cot in the morning or pick up from school in the afternoon. They may not have the physical presence of a child, but they must not be forgotten. They are still mothers.

Each International Midwives Day I’m faced with the task of a new way to express my gratitude to the midwives in my life. It’s a challenge I take very seriously. For these individuals play a pivotal and most precious role in both my professional and personal life.
They are the caretakers for our patients and their babies. They nurture our families during their shift and long after their work hours have ended. They carry in their heart every life they have touched and they forever hold a treasured place in those lives.
It is such privilege and pleasure to work with you, learn from you, laugh with you and cry with you. Knowing I would be working alongside you was a huge inspiration in my decision to become an obstetrician.

And to Sharon, Lisa, Mel and Colleen who played the most crucial and beautiful role in the birth of my most recent little person, I was so blessed to have you and I thank you with all my heart xx

With sheer delight, Embrace Women’s Health and I welcome Dr Danielle Quittner, commencing December 19th.
Danielle is an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and a specialist in high and low risk pregnancies. She is herself a mother of 3, has a kind, nurturing manner and a wicked sense of humor.
She is taking patients for pregnancy planning, antenatal care and birth, at both Cabrini and Jessie McPherson Private Hospitals. She consults weekly at our Malvern rooms.

Exciting news! We’ve recently welcomed our very own reception and office guru Melissa to Embrace and from mid May to mid June we’ll be joined by Dr Jessica Klein. Dr Jessica will be looking after Dr Jackie’s patients while she takes some time off for her other new arrival - her second child!
