For whatever reason it didn’t click for me before my cancer journey that everything we put in our laundry to clean it?! ITS ABSORBED INTO OUR SKIN ALL DAY.
Guess what though?
We change into our jammies and it’s absorbed all night too. 😂 blankets, pillow cases, all the things. (You thought there was a bright side huh? 🙃)
If that doesn’t make you panic 😬 then it should at least make you sick 🤢😭
My laundry soap? Scent booster? Stain remover? Fabric softener? AND dryer sheets?! All eco friendly, non toxic and scented with essential oils. (Honestly I was worried it wouldn’t work, or would smell like dirt. I was wrong 😂)

After the loss of my Husband last year to cancer, I felt scared, lost and alone. Not only had I lost my life partner of 30+ years and father to our children, I had also lost my income, after we sold our family business to spend as much quality time as we could with our daughters, family and friends.
While going through this heartache of grief, I realised how lucky I was to have supportive family and friends to get me through the darkest days. But none of them could really understand what its like to lose your soul mate.
The reality finally hit, I was forced to start a huge part of my life all over again. OMG now what do I do, was my constant thought. I was driving myself crazy for many months. Until I met Katerina who I booked for a relaxing massage, hoping to easy some of the stress and tension in my body. Little did I know this lady was going to change my life. Being a shamanic healer she was able to alleviate past traumas effecting my soul/spirit to help restore my mind and physical body. I felt a great sense of relief after seeing her so I returned again. This was when I decided its time to let go of what I cant change or control. Time to surrender and just be. My grief was certainly still with me and always will be, I just learnt how to not allow it to consume my every thought. I started taking care of myself and putting myself first again, something I hadn't done in many years. “Go With The Flow” was my mantra.
I then started to think about the many people having to face these dark days all alone. How can I help these people or anyone struggling through this journey we call life. My imagination ran wild with ideas that I thought were way out of my reach. I dreamt up some awesome scenarios for my future. One small thing lead to another and I found myself with the opportunity to start one of those dreams. After a lot of self doubt and stress I finally decided to take a chance and go for it. “Because I Can” was my new mantra.
I decided to create JOLS Wellness Hub located in Byford, a place of calm. For anyone who needed support, a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear or a healing hug from someone who understands. Created for anyone wanting support either emotionally, physically or spiritually while on their own Journey Of Loving Self.
Our amazing therapists, and yes I certainly had Katerina join me, offer a variety of massage services, holistic healings, beauty services, wellness coaching and so much more. Our safe caring place of calm is here for everyone.
We also have a beautiful giftshop at the Hub. Selling essential oils, healing crystals, books, oracle cards, giftware's, and many other treasures to discover.
So please pop in anytime and say Hi and take some time out for yourself. Life is short so do what makes you happy today, as tomorrow is never promised to any of us.
