Saphira Clinic

Saphira Clinic Saphira Clinic - Voted by Beauty Editors as Australia's BEST non Surgical Skin Clinic & Thermage Exp Christiana’s Vision. I call it the forever 40's look.

Age management just got serious
In the 20 years that I have been involved in the Cosmetic Industry, there has been a shift in not only the reasons that women, in particular, seek an age management solution, but in the list of requirements they have in choosing a modality. Today’s middle aged woman does not choose a cosmetic procedure in order to look young enough to ‘hold onto a man’. My clients often remark that they want to look fresher and more energised in order to ‘hold onto a corporate career’, or to look as capable as they feel in an increasingly age sensitive employment market. The "Forever 40s" look
Women express that they feel or have felt that they looked confident and energised through their 40's and many want to retain or regain this look into the future. As much as we would wish otherwise our facial appearance is assessed, measured, and critiqued throughout our young lives. In adulthood and beyond we aspire to attain a youthful appearance that represents the exuberance that we feel. These women describe the look of peers, friends or celebrities in their age group, who underwent a cosmetic surgery option, as not looking the 10 - 20 years younger that was hoped for, but looking like someone their age, who has obviously had surgery or 'too much work done". Nobody wants to look weird
The same can be said for the over use of temporary injectable dermal fillers. You don’t have to be in the industry to identify when someone has overused dermal fillers to try to recreate facial volume loss, it just doesn’t look right. In developing the Saphira Philosophy I have come to a clear understanding that the three most important requests for clients seeking a solution to age management is that in doing so they:

Do NOT want to look over processed and weird
Do NOT want to have major surgery
Do NOT want to attribute annual leave to procedure recovery
What They DO want, is to achieve a fresher and more youthful version of themselves using a long term financially sustainable non surgical, age management plan. After more than 20 years in the cosmetic industry, where I was involved in product formula research and development, marketing, and technology training and assessment, I've seen it all - The good, the bad and the downright weird. My philosophy in offering age management plans is very simple. If there is no supporting science for the claim and it doesn't work for me, I won't offer it to you and I will NEVER send someone out of our clinic looking weird. Your personal plan
Saphira memberships are customised plans that offer long term age management and are designed around our belief that the most desirable look today is a significant restoration of facial features offering a fresher and more youthful version of you. We have invested in a collection of the world’s best:

Tissue stimulators
Resurfacing corrective treatments
Skin clarity treatments
Skin care systems
Saphira customised membership programs offer our clients access to the world’s best non surgical cosmetic treatments. Members enjoy a fresher and more youthful look with sustainable results, little to no interruption to social and professional commitments, in a financially manageable plan. I welcome women of all ages to come to Saphira and see what's possible. We have created a luxury, private environment where we encourage a free and honest dialogue about your concerns in the hope that we can build you a result driven, financially manageable, long term age management plan. Azelaic acid helps to improve uneven tone through a few key pathways: it inhibits tyrosinase (a key enzyme involved in melanin production) and helps normalise overactive melanocytes, which are often dysregulated in melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

It’s also anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, which matters because inflammation is one of the strongest triggers for recurrent pigment — especially after breakouts or in redness-prone skin.

And importantly, azelaic acid has keratolytic properties. In simple terms, it helps normalise abnormal keratinisation and gently encourages the shedding of pigmented, uneven surface cells. That’s why it can improve clarity, texture and congestion at the same time.

While azelaic acid is powerful, pigment often needs more than a topical approach.

Pigment is influenced by UV exposure, heat, vascular stimulation and inflammation — so at Saphira Clinic we often combine azelaic acid with targeted in-clinic treatments for better control and longer-term stability:

✨BBL HERO helps address pigment at multiple wavelengths while also reducing redness/vascular activity and calming inflammation — which is key for melasma and rosacea-prone skin. It can also support acne management by reducing inflammatory drive and helping improve overall skin clarity.

✨HALO Hybrid Laser allows us to refine stubborn epidermal pigment and texture through fractional resurfacing, while stimulating deeper renewal — particularly helpful for persistent dyschromia, enlarged pores and acne scarring.

Vitamin C isn’t just a “brightening” ingredient. It actively interferes with melanin synthesis at multiple stages of the pigment pathway.

At a cellular level, UV exposure stimulates tyrosinase — the key enzyme responsible for converting tyrosine (amino acid) into melanin.

It also downregulates tyrosinase activity and reduces oxidative stress within melanocytes — which is critical, because inflammation and free radicals amplify pigment production.

But there’s another layer.

Vitamin C is also essential for healthy collagen production. This matters because pigmentation often sits alongside sun damage and collagen breakdown. By supporting collagen, Vitamin C not only helps regulate pigment but also improves overall skin strength, clarity and resilience.

So what does that mean clinically?

• Brighter overall tone
• Reduced UV-induced pigment stimulation
• Support in treating melasma & PIH
• Improved skin integrity alongside pigment correction

At Saphira Clinic, we use Vitamin C as part of a multi-layered pigment strategy — combining topical melanocyte regulation with in-clinic treatments like BBL HERO and fractional lasers like HALO, Moxi and Clear & Brilliant to address both superficial and deeper pigment reservoirs.

Because pigment is never treated at one level alone.

When collagen contraction and neocollegenesis meet cellular rejuvenation and skin clarity… ✨
This is “The Magic” by Saphira Clinic.

For our beautiful client May, we performed Thermage FLX and BBL HERO as part of her annual “Magic” protocol — a comprehensive, layered approach we designed for long-term skin integrity, not just short-term glow.

Thermage FLX works deep within the dermis to tighten existing collagen and stimulate ongoing remodelling, strengthening the structural framework of the skin. BBL HERO then refines the surface — targeting pigment, vascularity and uneven tone while supporting cellular rejuvenation (let’s hear it for Forever Young! 👏🏻).

Structure + surface.
Prevention + correction.
Immediate tightening + progressive improvement.

We perform “The Magic” for May each year to maintain her results and stay ahead of intrinsic and environmental ageing. It’s about consistency, strategy and respecting the biology of the skin.

Next session, we’ll build on this foundation with another BBL HERO and a tailored skin booster to further enhance hydration, luminosity and dermal quality — because comprehensive treatment planning is where true transformation lives.

That’s the difference. That’s “the Magic”. ✨

This beautiful client has been seeing our Melbourne practitioner Sadah for customised BBL HERO.

As you can see, she has seen some fantastic improvement in her rosacea. She has sensitive skin and has struggled using the typical products recommended for rosacea so BBL HERO has been an excellent alternative.

We’re looking forward to being a part of her ongoing journey to healthy skin 😊
