We want to hear from Australians about their lived experience of mental illness and su***de.

Last year, UNE researchers heard from over 1,000 Australians about their lived experience of su***de. Now, we want to hear from Australians about their lived experience of mental illness and su***de. We aim to understand how mental illness is experienced from the time of becoming unwell, right through to stable treatment, and how services helped, or didn’t, along your journey.

The anonymous survey consists of a short demographic questionnaire and several open-ended questions. The survey is anticipated to take approximately 10-20 minutes to complete depending on how much information you wish to provide.

If you live in Australia, are 18 years or over, can read English and would like to share your anonymous thoughts please click through to the survey: https://unesurveys.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bj6PIIKxcR05MPj

If you know of anyone who may be interested in taking part, please feel free to share this with your networks.

This project has been approved by UNE Human Ethics Committee HE19-242 and is funded by the National Mental Health Commission

A message from UNE Health: The SignPost Study.

"UNE Health is looking for people to assist with a study.

We are looking to hear from people, bereaved by su***de, to take part in The SignPost Study. We want to ensure that bereavement support responds to the challenges when a loved one is lost to su***de. The study is over a 6-week period where people receive short text messages as a way to navigate their bereavement.

To participate, you must be 18 years or older, live in Australia, have lost a loved one to su***de during the last year, and have a personal mobile phone to access the study. The text messages and survey are in English, and you will also be asked if you are actively considering su***de so we can ensure you are connected to support as this will mean you cannot participate in the study.

Please click on the link if you are interested in signing up now for a 6-week research study that includes three surveys click: http://ow.ly/WKlq50GgNfr

Please note: this project is approved by UNE Human Ethics Committee HE21-175.

If you are bereaved by su***de and do not meet the eligibility requirements for this study, you can contact StandBy Support After Su***de on 1300 727 247."
