Your NDIS funding can be used to build independence, not just cover daily support.

Things like learning to cook, joining a local art or music class, or becoming more confident using public transport might be covered.

✨ Jill is especially passionate about working with people’s strengths and interests. She loves finding the spark in someone and using that to help them work toward their goals in ways that feel natural, empowering and fun.

🐴 When she’s not at work, you’ll most likely find Jill out horse riding or spending time with her family. Whether it’s hitting the trails or catching up over a cuppa, she values those moments deeply.

❄️ Freezin’ for a Reason! 🧊

Special Olympics North West New England are hosting a Polar Plunge at Dumaresq Dam this Sunday, and we couldn’t be prouder to support them!

They’ll be braving the icy Armidale water to raise funds and awareness for inclusive sport. Every splash helps support athletes with an intellectual disability to train, compete and thrive.

Troy is the Director here at NESS and one of the ones behind the scenes helping keep the wheels turning.

💬 What do you enjoy most about leading NESS?
I love seeing our team make a real difference in people’s lives. Whether it’s helping someone gain confidence, build skills, or just feel genuinely supported, that’s what it’s all about. I also enjoy creating a workplace where our team feels valued and empowered to do meaningful work. It’s not just about the job, it’s about the people.

❤️ What drives you in this work?
I’m driven by the belief that support should be tailored, respectful, and focused on what really matters to each individual. I want NESS to be the kind of service people can rely on, one that actually listens, adapts, and stands beside them. My family motivates me too. I want to show my son, Ryder, what it looks like to put good into the world.

🎉 Fun fact or something people might not know about you?
I’m a bit of a tech nerd. I love drones, 3D printers, and anything I can tinker with. I also enjoy filming and video editing when I get the chance. But what really clears my head is riding my motorcycles. There’s nothing like it for freedom and focus.

⭐ Why did you start NESS?
I’ve always loved solving problems, especially when it helps people. I wanted to create something that made a meaningful impact, something that existed to help others, not just as a business, but as a force for good. Helping people is something we should all do freely, and I wanted NESS to be a place that did that and more.

🌱 What’s your vision for the future of NESS?
My vision isn’t about getting bigger. It’s about having the biggest impact we can in the New England community. I want NESS to be known for doing things properly, for really caring, and for showing up for people. Most of all, I want to build something my son Ryder will be proud of. I hope one day he sees what we’ve done here and knows that helping others is something that matters deeply to our family.

A simple rule of thumb:
If it helps you work toward your NDIS goals and it's "reasonable and necessary", you're on the right track.
