🌟 Small steps, big impact 🌟

Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. A kind word, a helping hand, or simply showing up for someone. At NESS, we believe every moment of support counts.

💜 Together, we’re building a stronger, more inclusive community.

Today is R U OK? Day 💛

Let’s be the reason someone feels seen, heard, and supported.

Take a moment to check in with a mate, a client, a loved one — and really listen.

You never know what someone might be carrying quietly.

Because asking “Are you OK?” can open a door that leads to hope.

Not sure how to ask someone if they’re OK?
Here’s a quick guide:

1. Ask
2. Listen
3. Encourage action
4. Check in

It’s not always an easy conversation, but it could change a life.
Let’s show the New England region that no one has to go it alone.

💬 A simple “Are you OK?” can make a huge difference.

You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to be a mate and a good listener.

This week, as R U OK? Day approaches, let’s all look out for one another.

📣 Friday Community Highlight
Sometimes the smallest support makes the biggest difference.

Whether it’s a lift to the shops, a check-in over coffee, or a quiet moment spent just being there, our team at NESS is all about showing up in real ways, every day.

We’re proud to walk alongside our clients as they work toward their goals, no matter how big or small. That’s what community support should feel like. 💛

👋 Meet the Team: Tim – Support Manager

Tim is our Support Manager and the most senior team member under Troy, leading the charge behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly.

💬 “I genuinely enjoy being able to support our team with open communication and a problem solving mindset. When staff feel supported, that flows directly into the care we deliver to our clients, and that’s where the real impact happens.”
Tim’s passion for teamwork and his calm, solutions focused approach are a big part of what makes NESS tick. He’s also proud of the direct connection he still has with clients, helping resolve concerns and building relationships that matter.

🌱 On his vision for NESS:
“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but I’m even more excited for what’s ahead. As we grow, our positive impact across the New England region grows too, and that’s what drives me. We’ve built a strong reputation in our community and I’m committed to upholding that every day.”

🎯 What he's learned as a leader in disability support:
“Everyone on our team brings something different to the table, and that diversity is a strength. The best outcomes happen when we play to people’s individual strengths, match them with the right clients, and create a workplace that is genuinely supportive and inclusive. Being approachable and empathetic is essential.”

🧰 Fun fact:
If there’s something to fix, build or improve, Tim’s your guy. “Whether it’s cars, carpentry, plumbing or gardening, I love being hands on. I reckon I could turn my hand to just about anything.”

💛 Monday Reminder
A simple smile to a stranger might seem small…
But for them, it could mean everything.

You never know what someone else is carrying.
Kindness doesn’t cost a thing, but it can change someone’s day.

Let’s start this week with empathy and warmth, one smile at a time 😊

💜 Wear it Purple Day – August 29th 💜
Today we proudly stand with LGBTIQA+ young people across our region and across the country.

Wear it Purple Day is about creating safe, supportive and inclusive environments. Not just today, but every day. It’s a powerful reminder that every young person has the right to be proud of who they are, no matter their gender identity or sexuality.

This year’s theme is “Write Your Story”, encouraging young people to embrace their unique journeys and feel supported in living their truth.

At NESS, we believe diversity is strength, inclusion is non-negotiable, and every young person deserves to feel seen, respected and celebrated. 💪💜
