Many of my patients know I wear my heart on my sleeve. It has been an extremely challenging past 6 months with my mental health being affected by long covid a black mould toxicity and increased external stress. It ultimately affected my ability to run my business which to me has been heart breaking. Ive had a couple of unsuccessful attempts at returning to work so as not to let others down, however I wasn’t ready and my altered mental health had me forgetting appointments , cancelling appointments and just landing in a heap. The act of disappointing patients after a life dedicated to their health and healing had me feeling like a failure and just exacerbated the problems I was experiencing.

After having a much needed break away from Armidale, I have decided I am going to need professional help attaining and sustaining a healthy mental health reset and will close the clinic until this is achieved. It is my heartfelt and sincere hope that following this time I can return to work and continue to provide the Armidale community with the highly specialised care they deserve.

Lipoedema affects 1 in 11 women and many women do not know they have lipoedema.

Lipoedema is a chronic condition where there's an abnormal buildup of fat cells in the legs, thighs, buttocks, and sometimes arms. It's not the same as regular obesity because it generally doesn't respond to dieting or exercise. Lipoedema mostly affects women, especially during hormonal changes like puberty, pregnancy, and menopause. It can cause pain, swelling, and can make walking and daily activities difficult.

Assessment and management of lipoedema are crucial because they may help prevent the condition from worsening and improve quality of life. Early diagnosis and treatment can reduce symptoms like pain and swelling. Management typically includes lifestyle changes, such as a Low inflammatory modified carbohydrate healthy diet, lymph boosting exercise, manual lymphatic drainage therapy to reduce fluid build-up, and compression garments to improve lymphatic flow.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE IMPROVES FATIGUE
Many of my patients and clients know that I have been struggling with Long Covid . Living rurally with any chronic condition has its challenges and there is little to no support for people experiencing the ongoing effects of Covid. During my down time I have been studying Long Covid and how to support people with long covid. Many of the symptoms seem to cross paths with ME ( chronic fatigue) and Fibromyalgia.

I am planning to return to work in Armidale Wellbeing and Lymphoedema Clinic in May and see how I go. I am working on a specific treatment protocol for people experiencing long covid and also patients with Chronic Fatigue. The treatment will include a thorough assessment of Symptoms and vital signs ( Blood Pressure and Oxygenation levels), recommendations for lifestyle modification and of course a Lymphatic Drainage treatment.
