I am coming out of maternity hiding to present this awesome workshop at Entity Health tomorrow!

Everyone always talks about the pregnancy glow 🌟🤰🏽and post baby highs 👩🏽‍🍼🥰 but I'm here to keep it real and chat about some of the not so fab phenomenona that happen...like lower back pain ⚡

For the last 12 weeks we have been soaking up this delicious ray of sunshine ☀️

It was 12 weeks ago today, (on Pia's due date!) I am proud to say I walked over in labor to the Armidale hospital and with the support of my husband aka Coach Dunc and the incredible midwives at the Armidale Hospital I was able to triumphantly achieve a VBAC and the safe arrival of Pia.

I was also channelling inspiration from all of my superwomen patients, family and friends that have birthed before me 💪🩷

It is truly incredible what our bodies can do especially if we have the right cheer squad behind us.

For now I am enjoying this wild but joyous ride, trying to take it easy, not bouncing back too quickly and of course remembering to BREATHE.

Which I hope you are all remembering to do too!

Your age is just a number and yes things are getting a little older but it doesn't mean you can't get stronger 💪
I have patients in their early 20s come in with back pain blaming it on their age!
Many things can cause your back pain regardless of your age.
Injuries, strained muscles, sprained ligaments, and spinal irregularities are just a few of the most common culprits.
While all of these are more likely to develop the older you are, your age is not the primary cause of them
So even though it is widespread belief and concern that getting older causes or worsens back pain, research does not support this, and evidence-based treatments (like sports chiropractic and clinical Pilates) can help at any age.
If you are 20,30,40,50 or 60 and feel like a 90 year old 🧓👴 maybe we need to have a chat and work out how we get you feeling your age again 🤸‍♀️🤸💫

Did you know you could stretch your forearm muscles?
And yes it is as delicious as I'm making it out to be.
Your lateral forearm muscles are responsible for so many movements and they often get punished if you are a keyboard warrior, builder, tradie, weight lifter, instagram scroller (yep I can see you are using them tight now! 🧐😳)

When these muscles get tight, you'll often feel stiff in the wrists and soreness on the outside of your elbow.

If things get a little too repetitive and your muscles don't get enough time to recover that's when tennis elbow comes a knockin' 🎾🚪

If you've just returned to work and you could do with some mid week stretching treat yourself to this one.

1. Interlock fingers
2. Straighten your elbow as you flex your wrist
3. Stretch those forearms...it should be the kind of stretch that provides a little warmth to the muscle.
4. Repeat on the other wrist

If you find this is a little too painful then its time to get someone like me to assess your situation!
