I am happy I have this photo to remind me of how much tension I had stored in my body then. Before my yoga training I would say I was pretty fit and healthy. I wasn’t that flexible but how important was flexibility anyway.
Since becoming a yoga teacher and practicing mindfulness consistently, I’ve felt my body open up in ways I never imagined. My heart is learning to trust and release fear. My shoulders are softening, my chest expands with deeper breaths, and my hamstrings finally allow me to touch my toes. My hips, inner thighs, back, and core—everything is shifting, not just physically but emotionally.
The connection between mind, body, and breath continues to amaze me. As Dr. Gabor Maté says, it’s all about “mind-body unity” and reconnecting with our authenticity. We were always meant to be strong, healthy, and whole yet our conditioned state pulls us away from our natural essence.
The journey back home to ourselves starts with awareness. 💫
