REDUCTION COPINGS offer a simple chairside solution when undercuts or limited occlusal clearance appear during crown and bridge preparations, particularly in hard to access posterior areas.
Placed over the prep, the coping acts as a guide, highlighting where reduction is needed. Simply adjust the areas that protrude until they sit flush with the coping to help eliminate undercuts, improve the path of insertion and achieve adequate clearance. The real advantage is efficiency. By refining the prep immediately, you can often avoid bringing the patient back for re-prep and complete the cementation in the same appointment.
Speak with the Avant Dental team if you’d like to incorporate reduction copings into your workflow.
