Becoming a parent is life-changing but it can also come with unexpected challenges. About 1 in 5 mothers in Australia experience postnatal (postpartum) depression within the first year after giving birth. Many fathers are affected too.

Symptoms may include:
• Persistent sadness or irritability
• Low energy, difficulty sleeping or eating
• Trouble bonding with your baby
• Anxiety or mood swings

These symptoms are different from the common "baby blues," which usually fade within two weeks. Postnatal depression can last longer and may require professional care.

Queensland has one of the highest skin cancer rates in the world, thanks to our beautiful but intense sunshine and UV radiation that stays high throughout the year. Even on cloudy days, you can still get burnt in as little as 10 minutes when the UV index is 3 or above.

Every time UV penetrates unprotected skin, it damages DNA at a cellular level, raising risks of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, skin aging, and immune suppression.

Protect yourself with our “Slip-Slop-Slap-Seek-Slide” approach.

However, if you notice a new, changing, or sore spot? It’s worth getting checked early.

Book your skin check appointment by calling (07) 3564 6400 and stay safe in the sun.

Living in Queensland means enjoying the sunshine, but it also puts us at one of the highest risks for skin cancer in the world.

✅ Early detection and treatment are key to a faster, simpler recovery.
✅ Regular skin cancer check-ups help avoid serious complications and the need for surgery.
✅ A quick skin check offers peace of mind if you’ve noticed any changes like moles, sun spots, or ulcers.

The frequency of skin checks depends on your age, sun exposure, and personal risk factors, however, most adults benefit from an annual check.

Book your skin check today to (07) 3564 6400 and stay proactive with your skin health.

Living in the Sunshine State has its perks, but it also means Queenslanders face the highest rates of skin cancer in the world.

That’s why regular skin checks are so important, especially if you’ve noticed any changes to a mole, freckle or sun spot. Early detection can make all the difference and often means less invasive treatment.

Check the UV Index before heading out, and remember that sunscreen isn’t a free pass for extra sun exposure.

Book your skin check through call (07) 3564 6400 to schedule an appointment and take the first step toward peace of mind.

Are you considering a long-term contraception?

Intrauterine Devices (IUDs) are small, effective contraceptive options placed into the uterus. There are two main types:
✔️ Hormonal IUDs – effective for up to 5 years
✔️ Copper IUDs – last between 5 to 10 years

Both are safe while breastfeeding and aren’t impacted by other medications.

Every person is different, chat with your GP to explore which option suits your needs and lifestyle best. Book a consult with us through call (07) 3564 6400 or visiting our website.

Endometriosis pain and bloating? You're not imagining it since up to 75% of women with endometriosis experience gastrointestinal symptoms like bloating, abdominal pain and changes in bowel habits, often mimicking IBS.

New research from Monash University shows the low FODMAP diet can significantly ease these gut symptoms and improve quality of life for many.

In the study, 6 in 10 women saw real relief with a low FODMAP diet compared to standard healthy eating.

While not a cure, it’s a powerful dietary approach worth exploring, especially when gut issues are adding to the everyday challenges of living with endometriosis.

Ask your GP or dietitian about how to try this diet safely and effectively.

Winter is here and make sure to double your protection this season.

A new Australian study has found that getting your COVID-19 booster alongside your flu shot could reduce hospitalisations and serious illness, especially as new variants spread across the country.

Even though COVID-19 isn't seasonal like the flu, receiving both vaccines at the same time improves coverage and keeps more people out of hospital.

COVID-19 booster with flu shot has stronger defence. Both vaccines available here with us and it is safe to receive together.

Protect yourself and your loved ones this season.

Not fully vaccinated against measles? You may be more at risk than you think.

Measles is one of the most contagious viruses and cases are rising again across Australia, including in our region. Many adults born after 1966 may have only received one dose of the vaccine during childhood, leaving them vulnerable to serious complications like pneumonia, brain inflammation, or even death.

The good side is Measles vaccines are safe, effective, and often free.

If you’re unsure about your vaccination status, especially if you’re planning to travel, we strongly recommend a catch-up dose. Two doses are needed for full protection.

📞 Call (07) 3564 6400 or
