Meet 2021 Gold Coast Young Citizen of the Year, football fanatic and unstoppable force, Elijah Palmer.
Born with spina bifida, intellectual impairment, FASD and lower limb paralysis, Elijah has been facing challenges head on his whole life so entering the CPL 10km Wheelchair race for seemed like the challenger thing to do. 😎
After competing in the shorter marathon events as a junior, this will be Elijah’s debut race in a fully-fledged racing wheelchair!
With his coach, Garth Plank, from Mentor 4 Me by his side, he has put in the hard work and is ready to reap the rewards. 🙌
Next stop...Paralympics of course. 🤩

Remembering why we do what we do...

I wasn't aware of Future By Design Australia before attending Disability Service Provider & Participant Connection Expo in Brisbane (30th of April to 1st of May, 2021). In the expo, I had stopped by their booth and was taken good care of by a very compassionate lady (which later I found out was Matt's mother). I was then introduced to Matt and his friendliness had made a good first impression. He had assured me that if we are to shift away from the provider then (Which didn't do a very impressive job), we can leave everything to Matt for him to manage and ensure a smooth transition. This was a definite plus point, especially for us migrants who are not comfortable with protocols, procedures and paperworks.

I didn't contact them immediately after the expo as I do want to see whether I'll be spammed by them like a few other providers did post expo. Weeks later, without any hard sales contact from Matt, I knew they are the right one for us.

And Matt sure did walk the talk from what he had promised in the Expo. Transitioning away from our then provider was a smooth process, he took good care of us and I was very impressed with the report provided. Matt's working ethic that's efficient and concise left a very good impression. He's always quick to respond and to clear up invoices from providers to us. Consistently keeping us up to date with tips and information on what's happening, with an easy to understand monthly reporting to boot - so very different from how we had been treated by our previous plan manager.

I have no hesitation to recommend and give my unreserved five stars. Keep up the good work and thank you to Future by Design Australia for providing such a service to us.

How do I pay for Am I Flying Yet? 🤔

When you register your details on the AIFY website, we will send an invoice for payment of a yearly subscription of $300. You can then use the tool as often as you like to keep track of progress against your goals and print or export your plan. Depending on how your NDIS budget is set up, it can come out of your flexible core budget.
