I am requesting your support to complete the short survey (3 questions)to say that Yoga Therapy should be included under NDIS. Ensure you put yoga therapy for each answer so it ticks the boxes. ✅
Please ask your friends, family and work colleagues to support this quick effort for people who have disabilities. We have so many experiences where our clients have wonderful outcomes and improvements with all kinds of life capacities. 🙏🏻🫶🕉️

You may also leave longer feedback on the DSS website. Using language that relates to: yoga therapy being disability specific improves a persons functional impairment or physical or social barriers that impact on their inclusion on an equitable basis in social and economic activities.

What will it take to convince the health system yoga therapy is a good adjunct for healthcare?

Around 1 in 6 U.S. adults practice yoga. The mind-body activity has grown and evolved over recent decades, into more accessible versions that reflect a current focus on mental health and mobility training, researchers say.

This is such a lovely poem to explain Autism. ❤️

Autism is:

Unable to speak, or maybe speaking too much
Hugging everyone, or disliking touch
Escaping outside,
Or trying to hide
Excitedly flapping
Inappropriate clapping
Autism varies so much

Won't wear a coat, or wears one all year round
Fussy eater, or would eat dirt from the ground
Screaming or humming
Annoyingly drumming
Toys in a line
The same way every time
Autism varies so much

Struggling to learn, or has wonderful gifts
Obsessions of numbers, trains, films or lifts
Spinning around
Throws things on the ground
Constantly spitting
Aggressively hitting
Autism varies so much

Alone without friends, or controls every game
Always looks different, always dresses the same
Swinging on doors
Head banging on floors
Freaks at the dryer
Keeps climbing higher
Autism varies so much.

Can't answer questions, won't do as they're told
In their own world or bossy and bold
Over prepared
Anxious and scared
A spectrum so wide
But they all bring us pride
When autism touches our lives.

I support autism awareness...

Renowned and sorely-missed disability advocate, Stella Young, has been immortalised in her hometown with a statue. The bronze statue was unveiled in Stawell, Victoria, nearby an accessible playground, park and lake. Stella Young was a passionate, witty, funny comedian, journalist and disability rights activist who paved the way for the disability community.
