2012 marked the year Raymond Crane invented the world's first rear vision mirror for cyclists. An innovative light-bulb-moment that would grow to combat rider safety in the years to come.
After observing the blatant lack of care of one driver who almost sent a cyclist plummeting, Raymond Crane began itching to know about the plausibility of rearward vision for cyclists. With a wetsuit, tape and a compact mirror in hand, Ray invented the first ever RearViz after a long afternoon of building and testing out his innovative concept. Alas, the Classic RearViz Mirror was born and unsurprisingly, it wasn't long until the RearViz mirror was packaged and worn by cyclists around the globe.
The upwards climb began, and with open ears, we listened to what people had to say about our launch. The positive buzz about RearViz being the next best thing to a helmet boosted operations tenfold. With belief and commitment top of mind, Mr. and Mrs. Crane took their first steps into this start-up journey of their own.
In 2014, two years after takeoff, cyclists in Asia found the RearViz to be too bulky. So, Ray got back to work and invented the SL-15 Slim Line Mirror, ideal for those with slimmer arms or wearability on the wrist. Using the very same technology, the team at RearViz developed a Universal Camera Mount to make filming hands-free and memories last. This fully rotatable mount allows unique, close-up footage with a tight hold for smooth takes. The easy-fit adaptable armband makes this product perfectly adaptable to any activity... From bicycle safety gear to the development of RearViz' unique cycling jerseys - you asked and we answered!
