🌼 Sharing the Heart Behind How Children Learn 🌼

One of the things we value most at Uniting Early Learning is the way our community grows through shared ideas. The conversations, the wondering, and the gentle reminders of why early childhood is such a meaningful place to be.

That’s why we’re so glad to let you know that Geordie Honeybrook, our Area Manager of Pedagogy, will be sharing some of her reflections with us here on our page from time to time.

If you’ve ever met Geordie, you’ll know she brings a calm curiosity and a deep respect for children into every space she enters. Her writing holds the same spirit thoughtful, grounded, and full of heart.

She’ll be offering glimpses into the thinking behind our everyday practices: how play opens possibilities, how provocations invite children to lead their own learning, and how documentation can quietly honour their voices and experiences.

These pieces aren’t about programs or checklists; they’re about people. Children, families, and the educators who walk alongside them.

We love that we get to share this with you, and we hope her words spark moments of reflection, connection, and maybe even a little inspiration. ✨

Her first post is on the way and we can’t wait for you to read it.

At Uniting Early Learning Aspley, our bilingual Auslan program welcomes Deaf, hard of hearing, or hearing children – into one inclusive community.

Auslan is woven into every day: greetings, songs, stories, play, and routines, so all children learn to sign alongside spoken English.

Deaf and hard of hearing kids thrive with peers who understand them visually, while hearing children gain empathy, richer communication, and a lifelong respect for Deaf culture. No one feels "the only one" – it's shared language for shared growth. Families love seeing their kids connect confidently, make friends easily, and build pride in their unique voices.

Whether your family signs at home or speaks, discover how UEL Aspley make inclusion feel natural.

Contact us to book a tour today and see Auslan in action!

At Uniting Early Learning Aspley, deaf, hard of hearing and hearing children learn together in an environment where Auslan is part of everyday life – in play, stories, songs and friendships. Hearing children learn Auslan too, so Deaf children are not “the only one” signing in the room.

If you’re connected to the Deaf community and looking for early learning where Auslan and inclusion are built in (not an afterthought), we’d love to welcome you to visit us and see the Auslan program in action.

🌼 New CCS Changes: The 3‑Day Guarantee

The Australian Government has introduced the new 3‑Day Guarantee, giving Child Care Subsidy–eligible families access to three days of subsidised early learning each week, regardless of work or study hours.

This update aims to make early learning more accessible and to support children with more consistent routines, relationships and learning experiences.

Every family’s situation is different, so the changes may impact families in different ways. If you’re unsure what this means for you, check out the links in the comments below.

You’re also welcome to contact your local Uniting Early Learning Centre if you’d like support or guidance.

We’re always here to help. 💛🌱
