🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

This October, let’s shine a light on awareness, support, and early detection. 💡 Our specially crafted donut — shaped like a breast — is more than a sweet treat. It’s a reminder of the importance of self-checks, screenings, and supporting those impacted by breast cancer.

Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate — it affects people of all shapes, sizes, and ages. That’s why regular checks and early detection are so important.

🍩 Donut forget to check your breasts this month!
A small reminder that can make a big difference.

💗 This month, we are pink for the occasion — standing strong, united, and hopeful.

Every bite is a symbol of strength, hope, and the fight against breast cancer.

💞 A special thank-you to Atherton Donuts for creating the limited-edition Boobie Donuts — a fun, heartfelt way to raise awareness and get people talking about breast health.

👉 Share, spread awareness, and remind your loved ones to check in on their health. Together, we can make a difference.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Dr. Briana Van Beekhuizen 🌟

We’re excited to shine the spotlight on Dr. Briana Van Beekhuizen, who brings a wealth of experience and a true passion for patient care to our team.

💙 Returning to General Practice

After many years in the hospital setting, Dr. Van Beekhuizen has returned to general practice, where she’s found the opportunity to build long-term relationships with her patients.

“Coming back to GP after many years in the hospital setting has allowed me to develop long-term relationships with people, really connect, and help people feel heard. This is often not possible in the hospital setting.”

🌸 Championing Women’s Health

Women’s health has always been close to Dr. Van Beekhuizen’s heart. She’s passionate about giving women the time, space, and support they need to address health concerns that are too often overlooked. She also enjoys working with teenagers as they learn about their bodies, helping them navigate challenges and build confidence.

“I think education and advocacy are really important. Knowledge is our superpower.”

At our clinic, she’s also working to streamline access to women’s health consults so patients can gain the most benefit from each appointment.

🌲 Life Outside the Clinic

When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Van Beekhuizen loves spending time outdoors. You’ll often find her walking her dog, hiking, camping with her family, or simply enjoying the peace of nature. She’s also an avid reader and a creative cook—always exploring new recipes and ways to maximize nutrition in everyday meals.

She also has a love for travel and exploring new places, always seeking out fresh experiences and adventures—something that shines through in many of her photos!
✨ Please join us in welcoming Dr. Briana Van Beekhuizen back to general practice—her passion, care, and advocacy are making a wonderful difference in our community!

🌸 September is PCOS Awareness Month 🌸

Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) affects 1 in 10 women of reproductive age, yet many go undiagnosed. PCOS is a complex hormonal condition that can impact a woman’s menstrual cycle, fertility, metabolism, and overall health.

💡 Did you know?

PCOS is one of the leading causes of infertility in women.

Common symptoms include irregular periods, acne, hair growth, and weight changes.

PCOS is linked to increased risks of diabetes, high blood pressure, and mental health challenges.

Early diagnosis and personalized care can help manage symptoms and improve long-term health.

At our clinic, we are committed to empowering women through education, early detection, and compassionate care.
