We donβt talk enough about the level of self-honesty it takes to build a life you actually want.
Not the life you inherited.
Not the life you slipped into by default.
The life you choose.
For years I told myself I wanted freedomβ¦
but if Iβm being really honest, I kept choosing habits, jobs, and rhythms that reflected the woman I was trying to grow out of β not the woman I was becoming.
Everything changed the moment I started asking myself,
βDoes this support the life Iβm building?β
For me, that shift happened when I finally said yes to something completely outside the norm Iβd been raised to believe in.
At the start, it was messy. Far from perfect.
It didnβt look like what I imaginedβ¦
and it definitely wasnβt part of some big business masterplan.
It was simply the first step that felt aligned with the lifestyle I was craving:
β More time with my daughter
β More peace in the quiet before the house wakes
β More income that didnβt demand more hours
β More creativity, purpose, and the chance to build something that was mine
That one step cracked something open β a different path, a different pace, a different kind of freedom.
And if your vision feels bigger than the work youβre currently doingβ¦
thatβs not a sign to shrink.
Thatβs a sign to start choosing differently.
Sometimes the life you want begins with the smallest βyes.β
And yes β choosing something outside the β9β5 normalβ might be the doorway youβve been searching for.
