Attention and intention.
My movement practice teaches and makes me aware. This morning during my somatic movement practice I found myself experiencing a movement in my body that reminded me of the importance of attention and intention. As I lay in my space in constructive rest position I pressed gently with each foot into the floor. I sensed by hamstrings and then my hip flexors, the anterior tilt of my pelvis, my lumbar spine arching, my cervical spine flexing, the movement felt nourishing and satisfying. Then I purposely changed my attention to my hip flexors initiating the move, same bodily action but a different experience. It didn't feel light it felt difficult and heavy. How does your attention and intention change your experience? This was the lesson from my body today: to play with how a different attention and intention can change and shape my day.
