After 42 years as an owner at Terry White Chemmart Ayr, yesterday marked an important transition in our pharmacy as George officially eases into a well-earned retirement.
Our pharmacy holds many fond memories for George as well as many of our customers who have been with us since he first began his pharmacy career. After graduating from university, George completed his internship here under Tony Dal Santo in 1979. In 1984 he returned back to the pharmacy to join Tony as a business partner in the lead up to Tony’s retirement. Over the years George has been proud to see generations of families still filtering through the pharmacy doors and has sincerely appreciated the many years of loyalty.
At the same time, as one door closes, another door opens and we’re excited to welcome a new chapter here in the pharmacy.
Gabby has worked in the pharmacy for over 10 years and has been a part of the business, alongside George, for the last four of those years. She will now be joined by returning local pharmacist, Laura Homewood. Over the past year Laura has enjoyed reconnecting with so many familiar faces, and she is looking forward to this next chapter as a proprietor. She brings a fresh burst of energy, knowledge and kindness and she is always willing to go the extra mile for her customers to make sure that they receive the best care possible.
Gabby, Laura and all of their staff would like to congratulate George on his many successful years and thank him for the insight that he has shared over the years. We look forward to continuing to provide the community with the same great care you’ve always known and trusted — as well as also bringing some new and exciting things to the pharmacy in the future. 💚
