✨ Meet the Face Behind Tiny Tides ✨

Hi, My name is Claire πŸ™‚ you may recognise me from our local pool here in Bairnsdale.

For the past 10 years, I’ve lived and breathed the aquatic industry β€” leading a busy team of instructors, managing a swim school here in East Gippsland. Teaching children to swim has never just been a job for me; it’s been a passion, a purpose, and something I truly believe is a skill for life.

Now, I’m stepping into an exciting new chapter.🌱

Alongside a new career change, I’m starting my own home-based swim business, created with intention β€” to find a better family-life balance while continuing to do what I love most: supporting young children in the water.

What i can offer; ages 3 and up πŸ™‚

Lessons that fit in the with your families schedule.

πŸ’¦ Gentle, child-centred introductions to the water.

🧸 Play-based learning that builds confidence.

🀍 Calm, nurturing support for first swimming experiences.

🌈 Helping little ones feel safe, secure, and fall in love with the water.

I specialise in creating a warm, supportive environment, especially for children who may feel anxious or are experiencing separation worries. Every child is met where they’re at β€” with patience, encouragement, and lots of smiles πŸ™‚.

This new venture is close to my heart, and I’m so excited to share it with my local community 🀍.

If you’re looking for a gentle, positive start to swimming for your preschooler, I’d love to welcome you and your little one.

🌊 Enrolments open for Term 1, 2026 as well as summer holidays for introductory lessons.

✨ Limited spots available-please DM if interested.

Thank you for supporting a local, family-focused dream β€” I can’t wait to meet your little swimmers πŸ’™.

** THIS IS NOT AN AD, I BOUGHT THIS BOOK (after a recommendation on this page, thank you) **

I read a whole book today - this book, it took me about an hour.

I know why, over the past year, I've not been trying to get our kiddos into school at the expense of all else in our lives.

(Kiddo #1 has spent months building up to 3 hours in school every day following a trauma last May, after which he could barely attend at all, and kiddo #2 is currently attending an hour a day *when she can*.)

I know - because I lived school as a neurodivergent person.

I know - because of the changes I've seen in kiddo #1 since May. He talks to me more than he did, he trusts me more than he did, we're closer than we were, he's happier than he was and I realise how much he has struggled with school over the years *and I never realised*. Or maybe it was easier not to see, because I was focused on coping.

I know - because I talk to other adult neurodivergents.

But sometimes, it's nice to read what I believe and know through my own experience, written and drawn beautifully and convincingly.

Because when you've taken a different path, you question yourself a lot.

And we need those times of assurance and validation.

So if you've got an ND child, or a child you suspect may be ND, and who struggles with school...

Maybe pick up this book or buy it for their school or loved ones.

The message that school is actually really harmful in it's current state *to a lot of children* needs to get out there.

And this book, mainly through drawings, spreads the message very well and very thoughtfully.

I rarely make time to read a book but I'm glad I read this πŸ™‚

(The author's page is Missing The Mark if you want to check it out, I follow her page and enjoy it a lot)
