The Equine Wellness Centre was created for the love of horses, here in Western Australia we seem to miss out on what the rest of the world is up to – After travelling and spending time in other parts of the world we have seen not and learnt some things that are simply done here in Australia which are beneficial for the horse and its owners. So we decided to set up this center with the best interests for people who share their lives with horses. Wellness – what does it mean? The oxford dictionary says – The quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effect. An approach to health care that emphasizes preventing illness and prolonging life as opposed to treating disease. The Equine Wellness Centre’s philosophy is to take a holistic approach, to look at the whole horse. Each horse is treated individually combining movement, rest, diet and horsemanship. Equine athletes need to be given space to heal, in conjunction with integrative principles, the Equine wellness Centre will assist horses with recovering from illness or injury to return to full athletic function whilst educating owners/ trainers on how to maintain optimum health and wellbeing. The focus may be said as being either alternative or complimentary, dependent on the circumstances of each individual case.
