Announcement- Port Pirie Clinic Closure

After many years of travelling to Port Pirie, the time has come for me to step back and close my podiatry clinics at the Terrace Clinic.

This has not been an easy decision. Port Pirie has been such a special part of my working life, and I have truly valued each one of my patients

Over the past 7+ years, I’ve travelled almost 300,000 kilometres to be there — a number that still surprises me when I think about it!

I want to sincerely thank the incredible team at the Terrace Clinic. You’ve created such a welcoming professional environment. Also to my children who are so patient when I’m rushing them off to school to do the 1.5hr drive or late for pickups.

The change is so I can spend more time with my family and partner Jack and our blended family of 5 children.

My final clinic dates will be towards the middle of June so hopefully I’ll have time to catch up with everyone before I go. Over the coming weeks, I will be working to support a smooth transition of care and hopefully find someone to take over the clinic🙂

I’ll have some information and a copy of any healthcare plan Information at your next appointment.

This is just a friendly reminder that we are a small solo practice that is very heavily booked. We have zero tolerance to abuse of admin staff.

Patients requesting rescheduling are seen as soon as possible but we are not always able to accommodate every request. I appreciate that this is frustrating but please give 48 business hours for returning calls as I am often on outreach visits.

Again, please do not be rude to the admin staff or leave unpleasant messages on our answering machine.

👠New Patients👠

Unfortunately, with podiatrists in short supply my priority in the new year is providing good care to my current patients. Because of this I have decided to close my practice to new patients. I am hoping this will allow my workload to be more sustainable.

If you have already been referred to our service we will be able to see you although there may be a delay. I appreciate the understanding and support of my patients and the community during this transition.

School holidays

Just a quick update we’re on our last week of school holiday leave. I am working a few days but that will be prioritised to nursing home residents.

Admin will be in on Thursday to answer any messages and online bookings have reopened.

Thanks for your understanding- Ill be back fulltime on Monday the 29th of Jan and I’m looking forward to getting back into a proper routine for 2024.

14 years ago today my first job (and first time living out of home) as a podiatrist working for Riverland Regional Health. Our senior podiatrist Vale Andrea Thomas was quite the charecter and much mischief occurred. It was often debatable if more laughing or podiatry work happened 😂😜❤️

🎄Return from Sick Leave🎄

Hi all, I’ll return from sick leave this week and slowly work through my messages and emails.

Over Christmas I’ll be having a few weeks off to recouperate. It’s been a really big year and I’ve been feeling thankful for the support but also a little tired. Much has changed in health behind the scenes which has opened up new funding but also resulted in an increase in paperwork.

If you can bare with us as we get back to everyone and also be mindful that I won’t be taking on new patients until next year so I can focus on finishing all the “todo’s” by the end of the year. I’m hoping to have some help next year but podiatrists do remain in incredibly short supply Australia wide 😩

We’ll start a waiting list for February- thanks again for your patience.

👉Back to Work👈

We’re both officially back to work tomorrow after an opportunistic holiday overseas to Indonesia. We announced our engagement 💍🍾while travelling and I’ll be busy planning a wedding soon

I’ve started responding to my emails and messages which should be done by the end of tomorrow

Jack is excited to commence his new position at the Balaklava Hospital and I’ll be back in the clinic.
